Any motorcycle enthusiasts in Weinertown?

Platted dirt bike.
I've already got a rally on the books for next weekend. :)

Need to change the brake fluid and bleed the front; it works but it's really soft. Otherwise a set of new grips and it's fully sorted out.

I got 100 miles in yesterday in the mountains, then hit Red Rocks.

I'm trying for 1000 miles before I put the bike away for The Winter.
Planning on Laughlin's River Run in April.

So what's the first thing you do with a totally new to you bike you've never ridden?

Take it on a 60 mile off road event through the Mt. Hood National Forest
....with no idea what your range is,
....or how reliable your bike is,
....no spare parts/tube/spoons/etc
.....and no single track riding for about, oh, 15 plus years

I had an absolute blast ripping through the woods. The bike was a tractor that made me look like I knew what I was doing. Lost the silencer hanger bolt and the same side rear fender bolt along the route and had to listen to the ass end clatter around on the trail but otherwise, the bike was perfect.

Stopping for a bite

We all did a detour around the fallen trees in the background and had to horse the bikes through the brush. We all worked up a sweat so it was time to lose a layer.

Wish I was still young and strong enough to go offroad.
Quickly realized that was not a good idea for a 60+ old man with rheumatoid arthritis.
Resigned myself to my fate, sold the Versys 300x, and bought a cruiser.
My offroad adventures require that I walk or paddle, which is hard enough.

There are a bunch of older guys that rip it up in the group of riders I've been hanging out with....some in their 70s. I plan to be one of those crusty old dudes one day. Today I'm just crusty. :)

That'd be plenty brisk. I haven't been riding this past week because my foot is all banged up but our temps haven't gone below 40 in the daylight hours. It's nearly 60 today!

A couple Christmas presents for the dirt bike on the way:
Tusk recon hybrid gummy rear tire,
shinko fatty front tire, and tubliss

I will not be denied!
I picked this up today.
2019 Sport Glide in Midnight Blue.

I will do a proper NBD thread tomorrow if I get better pics.
The Sun is going down soon, and I need to ride a bit more tonight.

Sweet! I've been waiting a few years for the Milwaukee 8, I never buy first year motors, anyway I'm currently working out a deal for a 2019 Electra Glide Police cruiser/black.

I've heard great things about those.

My wife gave me a sheepskin for my last birthday and that thing is really comfortable on long rides.

I may add a sheepskin. If nothing else, it will keep the sun off the leather seat.

The one I have is dyed black so I'll pull it off if the bike is going to be parked in the sun for a while on hot days...otherwise, it's really nice.

I used a sheepskin on my long AL-CO round trip. Even tho the stock seat on my Lowrider is very comfortable and was a big factor in my purchasing that bike.
The sheepskin was definitely a valuable accessory for several long days in the saddle.

My Icon Tredwell boots have given up and started leaking at the toes today.

Time to start looking for a new pair of waterproof road boots w/ armor for commuting. If anyone has suggestions, I’m all ears. Good waterproofing and protection are a must.
