well.....apparently somebody got new tires.
HNTD

Yeah, the font is at the end of the line a with about 7500 miles on it. There are some odd tiny cracks on the carcass of the current rear so I'm going through a warranty claim on that one. Soi needed a fresh set and Bridgestone is running a $50 rebate on a pair of adventurecross tires through the end of the month

they look like serious 'bidness' for the dirt.

They’re a dual sport style tire; not as aggressive as a typical knobby in the dirt and not at grippy at the limit as a typical road tire on the street but really good in both environments. Great tires for riding an hour or more on the pavement to get to get out on some trails. I’ve got some plans to hit the trails and fire roads this weekend so good timing on the delivery. They’ve also got a version that is more road oriented than dirt.

compared to the "dual purpose" tires on Scramblers of my day (1969-1979) those things are narly as hell. :thu:

This pick is from 2007, despite owning this bike for 13 years, I probably have fewer than a half-dozen photos of it. It is a lot worse for wear these days, ... 46,650 miles.. This was my daily rider when we lived in L.Aa, Only gets used for some summer commuting back here. I've been wanting to replace it with a R1200RT, but have spent years paying down debt, buying a house, etc. One day.

Mounted those bridgestones last Saturday and have about 100 miles on them so far....great tire on asphalt and gravel. Need to get some dirt in soon. Only downside so far is that it's a little noisy about 40mph. If you're in the market for a dual sport/adv/scrambler tire, it's worth considering.

I’m on the road to Colorado. Done about a day and a half grinding it out on I40 across Arkansas and Oklahoma. Not too bad really . The Lowrider is layin down the miles pretty effortlessly. She is outfitted with a windshield, 80 liters of soft waterproof luggage and a small six pack cooler on the back. I’ll make Trinidad in about 6 hrs tomorrow, by the backroads, got a hotel there for the weekend. Last night and tonight I’m tenting at state parks. After that I’m not sure. I’d like to do NM but I dread that long hot slog back across Texas. So I may head north and return across northern Nebraska And Missouri or Iowa before turning back down thru the Ozarks and home.

Ride safe out there. That's a real road trip you're on. Have fun.

If your travels ever find you in Indiana, I can put you up for a night or two. We have three empty guest bedrooms.

Go through Santa Fe and on to Chaco Canyon, then up to Farmington.
From there you can go to Durango and work your way up to Denver, the East through Kansas.

I applied for a loan on this today. 2009 Super Glide Custom.

That’s a pretty good plan. Been to most of those places but not on 2 wheels. Never done Santa Fe an Chaco tho. But done the Taos, Sand Dunes, Durango, then north run a couple of times over different routes. I may just stay mostly on the east side of the divide and maybe do Rocky Mtn NP again before turning home. We’ll see .

Nice looking bike!
