Any motorcycle enthusiasts in Weinertown?

The new can is so much lighter and smaller than the stock can. Quick ride last night and it also seems to have less radiant heat from the body of the can. Looks great and sounds really nice too. Only like two decibels louder than stock but a much deeper exhaust sound

what's with all the lashing and bungie ?

Carry shit when I don't have the soft-bag on the bike.
The rokstraps are great for lashing things to the bike....like my backpack that has my work laptop, shoes, change of clothes, lunch, etc that I take every weekday to work.

I picked up a hedge trimmer from the local tool library this past Saturday and lashed that to the bike.

oh....i thought you had broken something and were lashing it back on to the bike

+1 on the rok straps. Genius little devices.

I've long had one of those cargo net bungie things that are way more effort than they're worth plus your load can shift around.

The one really handy aspect of the rok straps is that with the short strechy ends on the exhaust side, when I unclip them, there's zero chance that anything is going to touch the hot exhaust. So I get to my destination and just pop the straps, grab and go; no fussing around with anything.

Why on earth am I seriously considering going to check out an early 70s BMW R75/5 from craigslist when I'm not in the market for any such thing? :thwap:

wow....you ride that a LOT!!
my car is a year and 3 months old and i only have 6500 miles on it.

yeah, I might add some heated liners to my gear this year to keep riding through out the winter on days there's no snow/ice

A bad day at the office. Marc Marquez highsided badly while practicing for this weekends race in Thailand. He's looking to wrap up the MotoGp title this Sunday.

First ride into work this morning w/ the heated jacket liner and it's awesome. It was 38-40 degrees during the ride and it felt like 70 w/ the liner on low.

....why didn't I get one sooner?

probably because they were proprietary to NASA not too long ago.

They've been around for decades (Gerbing has been selling electric gear since '75) but I never really wanted to spend the money and was more apt to park the street bikes when the temps dropped.

Odd, I ride to work (about 20-30 minutes depending on traffic), with just normal gear. I'm good down to about 28 degrees.

I do have heated grips - that helps the fingers. And the bike has lots of plastic and a big windshield to keep the air mostly off me.

Yes, that's unique. On the bright side you can save money on gear by being nontypical like that.
