Love them. We're both shooting low left with them, but the manual says the front sight is adjustable, so I may attempt that soon.

We've each shot about 350 rounds through them, and we are consistently low left.

I do find that I'm a much better shot with the Glock. 45 after firing a few hundred rounds through the Shield.

I'm actuality a much better shot with the Glock. :embarrassed:

Also, I cleaned the Mossberg 500C 20 gauge shotgun that we got for a wedding present, but never shot, and bought 100 shells for it today.

We currently have about 800 rounds of 9mm ammo, 300 rounds of .45 ammo, 160 rounds of .243, 160 rounds of .270, and 100 20 gauge shells.

I may have a problem.

I'd expect you to shoot the Glock better - it's full size, longer barrel, longer sight radius. If you're shooting low left, it's most likely tightening your hand too much in anticipation of recoil, or jerking the trigger. Goos thing about the Shields - the more you shoot them the smoother the trigger will become.

Go to this link and print some of the targets - they're really helpful with fixing shooting issues: http://www.thecrimsonpirate.com/blog/?p=4162

Well, I cleaned the Mossberg 500C 20 gauge pistol grip that we were given for our wedding, and bought 100 shells.

It's hard to believe we've had this thing for over 15 years and haven't fired it. That will change this weekend. :embarrassed:

This made it home this morning.
I have 3 boxes of .38 and 2 of .357.
It will be a fun afternoon.

Next up for me is another 1911. I am thinking Springfield Armory Mil Spec.

FWIW, Mrs. P is not a fan of shooting the shotgun.

Me, I love it. 1 shell in the chamber and 5 in the magazine, and once our pistol targets were so full of holes that we couldn't make heads or tails out of them, I was lighting them up with 6 shots from the Mossberg. Not much left of the paper target after that onslaught.

Yeah, it packs a bit of a punch with the pistol grip and all, but it's just a 20 gauge. It's not THAT nasty to shoot.

It's also the only one of our guns that I'm a better shot than Mrs. P. :embarrassed:

You didn't spend 4 plus years in the Army either. :embarrassed:

6+, actually.

She's quite a bit more accurate with the 9mm. She's a bit better on the rifle, too, but she also has a better scope, so I'll blame that (though it isn't the reason she's more accurate than I am), and we're fairly even on the .45.

I've got her squarely beaten on the shotgun, though, but only because she is afraid to hold it up to aim it, and just fires it from her hip.

I'll kill a paper target or a shoebox with the shotgun, though.

While I haven't done a calculation, I'm pretty sure our ammo expenditure far exceeds our gun expenditure at this point.

MUST SLOW DOWN. MUST RESIST.

now on to plan B of the gun gas game.

We collect all of our brass, but we've been giving it away to other guys at the range who do reload.

I'm not at that point yet, though, I find it strangely therapeutic to clean the guns after a day at the range.

It's kind of like finding a beater guitar at the pawn shop, taking it home, taking it apart, and making it play like a new guitar again.

I actually like cleaning them almost as much as shooting them.

I have a real problem. :embarrassed:

I like cleaning my guns. It is therapeutic. I've liked the smell of Hoppes #9 since I was a kid.

I also like reloading. It cuts down on ammo cost, AND, you can also make better, more accurate ammo tailored for your gun. With free brass, I can press out .45ACP for about $.12 a round, maybe a little less. It's also a nice relaxing activity to run the press as well.

You aren't helping.
