They aren't too bad.
The first pistol I ever shot was a 1911 when I was in The USMC,so I am used to .45
The Shield is soft shooting for having a small frame, It's pretty accurate too.
The XD was great right out of the box.

yea, i carried the 1911 also. i've had 2 combat commanders, and shooting them quickly can be a handful.

Got my 35 rem reloading supplies today. F me, it's even expensive to reload for this cartridge.

Should be better now that I have some brass, and I can always load relatively cheap 357 mag bullets for plinking

for hunting, you should try some of these: https://www.hornady.com/bullets/ftx#!/
they have a soft rubber tip so as not to set off the round in front of them, but they fly and act like a ballistic tip.
they're the same bullets that horady uses in the leverlution loaded ammo.
the friend i was talking about (above) has been using them for about 5 years and loves them.
