Return to the Planet of the "Hey Euro's its that time again" Thread.

Should have whipped it out after all.

Anyway, it was one of those interviews that went swimmingly until I got asked a question I clearly did not know the answer to and I choked. FAILBOAT.

Starting to get fed up with being a self-enployed taxi driver. Sure, I get to decide when I work, but managing finances and monthly bills is very difficult when you get paid cash on a daily basis.

Best thing to do in those circumstances is to just say I don't know. If you are confident you know how to find out then explain that, otherwise leave it at that. Worse things to do is waffle.

Source: I do a lot of interviewing.

Yeah, hindsight is always too late. I waffled

Got back from Italy Thursday night. Fortunately had Friday off so don't have to deal with the shitstorm that is work until Monday. Cracking holiday and really did not want to come back.

@wok - sorry to hear about the job interview stuff.

Right, that lot have got a college foopball grid-ironing thread up so I am reviving this SAFE SPACE so that I can snowflake out and chill when it gets too weird out there.

Just start a discussion about which sport is the real football. They love that sort of thing over there :embarrassed:

Sorry I've been gone a while. Life has been somewhat crazy lately. I'm doing okay-ish with my thesis, still need to do a lot of writing, so I now need to maintain a 2 page a day minimum to make it in time. I guess the parts where I get to write my own analysis and conclusions will go pretty fast, but the current part of the literature review is painstakingly slow as I have to keep referencing my notes and sometimes go back to the books I read to review it....

Also moving on friday, got the keys to the new place, I've already moved some suitcases of stuff there.

Woke up early yesterday morning to do an exam (the last one I have to do), turns out there was a fuckup in the system, my registration didn't come through to the professor and I basically spent days studying for fuck all as my exam wasn't there. At least the professor immediately called me even though she's at a conference to clear things up after I sent a snarky email.

My Monday timetable is rammed now so Sundays have to be a lot quieter but I have a gig tonight so no refreshing lager beers at all - I had been rationing myself to 3 pints of a Sunday afternoon.

I get a few gig-less weeks after this which is nice - only 13 more to do before I call it quits on 2018

I went for a few REFRESHING BEERS on friday night with friends, and I came home pissed.

Spent my birthday Saturday with my daughter, did a taxi shift last night.

Stayed in bed most of today. It was a good day

Tl/dr

Just kidding, looks like you are slowly moving forward. Bit shit about the exam fuckup, suppose everyone had s few of those.

Good luck in the new place!

I gave my first guitar lesson to the daughter of some friends yesterday. I enjoyed it and she didn't smash her guitar up in frustration so I call that a win!

So I start the new year of my masters course on Saturday.

The student portal has just gone live and we have over 20 readings and "activities" to do for it

I'm scunnered at the farcicality of the whole experience - my last essay took over 3 months to get the grade back from and that's before we go into the bullshit involved with enrolling, registering etc...

Tomorrow is moving day, pretty hyped to finally settle in our new place. I've been dragging some stuff there by metro the past two weeks, tomorrow we're renting a van and doing the big haul.
