Return to the Planet of the "Hey Euro's its that time again" Thread.

Speaking of moving, I am lookinv at moving soon as well. I am currently in a 1 bedroom furnished flat, but will need an extra bedroom soon for my daughter. I have a lot furniture that I can’t use at the moment.

Infurnished 2 bedroom flats go cheaper than my current flat, so it will be a win-win.

Nice! Where are you looking, wok?

Wife's 50th Birthday weekend. Seeing Europe with King King tonight in Cardiff.

Sing it with me now...

'It's the final countdown!'...

Back at the Premier Inn following the gig and the wife has fallen asleep after we drank the very nice bottle of Italian sparkling wine we brought back from our holiday. Proper good stuff from a winery not just a bottle of Prosecco plonk mind you.

Have to say that Europe were phenomenal tonight. King King are one of my favourite bands and before long they should be headlining arenas at least if there is any justice left in this world. It is a very, very confident band that takes King King out as the opening act as they can blow most bands away. After King King finshed their set, I thought how are Europe going to follow that? Europe were up to the challenge. Everyone knows their hits. What people don't know is that most of their material is totally not mainstream radio friendly and is some pretty heavy rock. Norum is a guitar god of the highest order and Joey Tempest makes Jon Bon Jovi look like a rank amateur as a front man. They sold all of it and it ranks among the best gigs I ever been to.

Good luck. I'd hate to have a furnished place, I just like filling a place with my own stuff...

New house is nice so far, it's a lot cosy than our old place. There's some new noises that I have to get used to. And a really annoying whistle coming from one of the pipes that apparently has to do with the renovation going on outside. I do hope that goes away after, otherwise I'll have to start complaining within the first few months.... It's lovely being able to walk most places though. No more 25 minute metro rides (or night buses full of drunks) to get anywhere and back.

Had a nice little scare this morning, my hackintosh suddenly decided to not boot properly anymore. I could just get safe mode working. I was kind of scared of losing a bunch of my progress on my thesis, though nothing seemed to be the issue with the HDD that that's on, so worst case scenario would be to get one of those thingies to hook that up to my laptop. Turned out for some reason all my BIOS settings were messed up, changed them back and now all is good 0.o

That’s what you get from not getting a REAL Mac

I remember when I did my thesis on my old laptop, the same thing happened so since then I always back up any important shit at least 3 times

Ha, well, seeing as the issue was only settings related and nothing was lost, I'll gladly keep that 2000 euro's in my pocket and still have a way better computer

I did have some backups, but since I'm now writing about 2 pages a day, I was lacking some. But that's why they live on a HDD that's not involved in any of the hackintosh stuff, it's just holding files. I could set up a remote file on my server to work on, but sometimes that gets messy and gives issues as well...

True story: my brothers laptop died in the morning on his wedding day an hour before we went off to church, so he had to do the entire speech from memory at the dinner. Needless to say he learned doing backups. The colour of his face when the puter died (and when doing his speech) is something I'll never forget.

I have 3 USBs on my keyring that keep pretty much everything I ever need - all my DJ music and files, work stuff and uni stuff. no brainer.

Anyways I went out last night and met up with my brother and some friends for refreshing lager beers - first time ive seen them in ages.

Came home and tanned a bottle of wine in the hot tub - jets full on at 1am and my wireless headphones were dead so I hooked up my Bose speaker to my phone, I'm sure the neighbours enjoyed that.

Broke the toilet seat and woke up lying on the spare room with the xbox blaring and a 7-0 scudding at fifa which has ruined me recent impeccable league form

Meant to be going out shopping for a new sofa but I'm hoping the wife has fallen out with me so I don't need to bother

Did a Job interview on Thursday. Was the hardest interview I ever did: 2.5 hour assessment with a 15-20 min presentation, followed by a 1 hour interview. I think I did very well, been waiting for a call since then.

It's a bit of a pain they didn't contact me before the weekend, but at least they didn't contact me to say I didn't get the job

Even if I don't get the job, I need to find something quick, as the taxi job is making me feel depressed. I don't know how people manage being self-employed for a long time with no secure income.

Anyway, having a REFRESHING McEwans Champion Ale

Good luck wok!

Still not heard anything a week later. I tried phoning today without success. Also emailed recruitment agency, and also no reply yet.

I assume they are just taking their time making a decision, but I don’t know how much longer my heart can take the nerves

Eek. Well, continued good luck, wok.

One of the things I like about my job is the stability/security. It really is a quality of life thing.
