Return to the Planet of the "Hey Euro's its that time again" Thread.

Still not heard anything a week later. I tried phoning today without success. Also emailed recruitment agency, and also no reply yet.

I assume they are just taking their time making a decision, but I don’t know how much longer my heart can take the nerves
Mojo.

My nerves are beyond repair now... After last weeks computer problems and a bunch of internet issues due to our address being weird, my graphics card decided to explode today. I just emailed my thesis (which is due tuesday, hence I'm already quite stressed) to my supervisor and bam, black screen, smell of smoke and a bunch of sparks inside the case.... I was afraid it would be the motherboard or power supply, but luckily just the graphics card... Everything's still there, nothing essential got lost or is broken, but the added stress really put me over the edge... I'm going to have a beer.

I just bought a RX Vega 56 an am going to attempt to have my 10 year old 520W PSU power it. First though I need to go to the shop to buy two 6 to 8 pin PCI-E adapter cables as 8 pin connectors didn't even exist when I bought my PSU and the card requires not one, but two of them.

tl/dr I'm about to blow my eyebrows off :embarrassed:

Sounds like you'd make your life a lot easier by just getting a non-ancient power supply

It all worked! Didn't even have to go to the shop as I realised I had the right cables after all.

It's a very nice Corsair PSU. They last forever. It's only problem is that 520W seemed a lot 10 years ago. Now just the card alone is asking for 300W. But its still hanging in there :thu:

I just looked up what a RX Vega 56 is, and holy feck! £500 for a graphics card? Unless I was a professional gamer, I could NEVER justify spending that much on a graphics card, save for if I had won the lottery...

I got it off Ebay for £300. Still.... you have a point

Unfortunately we're off to Howdens then Braehead earlyish so no post gig drinking for me :'(

I did plan to get shit faced from tomorrow afternoon right through until we fly out to Vegas on Monday however my sister pointed out that it's my neice's birthday tomorrow and there's some gathering of sorts (that the wife and I weren't even invited too!) at my brothers house around 7 o clock tomorrow so I may need ot hold fire until that's done. :'(

My bro is visiting so had curry with him in town last night and got melted, then had a homade curry this evening and now getting melted, tomorrow we are visiting our other brother and will be getting a curry and getting melted.

God help anyone in my vicinity on monday :)

Got it for the GF's birthday a few years back. It's fucking great. It's a bit of a pain to gather all the herbs the first time round, but once you got them, most recipes don't take much hassle.

(I know it doesn't replace a takeaway, but dayum, you can make some great stuff from that book)

Ive got a right good curry book already, its more for going out. There's a good place on the main street to sit in but in town I wouldnt know where to start.

It was the shish Mahal on park road in the West end. Been going there since I was an embryo so it's more tradition. It's pretty good as far as British Indian curries go . Mr Singh's is good too, frequented by many a rangers player over the years that one, so staunch . Although I've not been there for a few years now

Should have said curry in the West end, drinking in town.

This blog is good for a recommendation too

My brother has been visiting from Holland over the weekend. Had a great time without any alcohol.

Yes, it’s possible, who knew?

We did have a great takeaway curry though on Sunday night. Tandoory chicken drumsticks as a starter, Hot chicken Bhoona, gigantic naan which was just right: fluffy inside, alightly charred and crispy on the outside.
