Return to the Planet of the "Hey Euro's its that time again" Thread.

Nice! I have to drive from Edinburgh down to Chester tomorrow straight after work to visit a mate for the weekend. About a 4.5-hour drive each way. Looking forward to visiting my mate, but not the drive itself.

Sorry for not creating more VALUABLE CONTENT. Summer is just too good so far. Also, got a lot of real life shit going on. And a lot of future life to figure out. It's kind of ironic that turning 30 coincided with having to deal with getting at least some sort of "grown up life" figured out.

But hey, the weather's still amazing and me and the GF are going sailing with my parents for a few days, after which we'll take a small holiday before flying back to Helsinki to pack and move.

Just home from the 2nd worst gig I've ever had and the new hot tub is officially fucked until they send an engineer out. Not the funnest friday I've ever had.

Hot tub mojo.

I'm going sailing on the Waddenzee with the GF and my parents for the weekend. Should be good.

Mojo on the hot tub. Is there a gig report?

Not much to report.to be honest, it just wasn't very good.

I meet most of my couples beforehand and get a vibe - next weeks I can stake my life on being great fun, last nights were very aloof and passive.

You also pick up on the vibe when you arrive - I had to check they hadn't already left the room as the usual chatter, laughing and clinking of glasses etc... Nope they were all there just not very energetic - it was more like the vibe you would get at a wake.

My intro for the first dance which I've been told is on par with a guy who's been to the boxing in Vegas elicited a modicum of engagement.

And then it was sporadic small groups of dancers through the night. No complaints about the music, next to no requests which I tqke as a sign people are enjoying the tunes but by 10 o clock we were down to half the guests, by 11 down to 20 odd and we puttered over the line.

I burst myself engaging with them but they just weren't up for it.

The bride seemed happy enough and the groom said he never usually danced so much but it's frustrating when I know how much better it could have been.

I gen up, in hundreds of DJ gigs, can say that was total rot. I've only ever had 1 gig (a Monday night shot 60 miles from civilisation) that was as flat and it wasn't for lack of trying.

Funny, the missus and I are in town in a pub that's absolutely rammed with people up for a good time, the DJ is playing pretty much off the same hymn sheet as myself and the place us bouncing.

Again, the couple and guests thought it was great (my FB has actually lit up today big time) but I know it could have been exceptional. I suppose it's a bit of a curse taking pride in what you do - I know teachers never mind DJs that dial every shift in and couldn't care less if it was lacking.

Felt crap today so I stayed home from work. Spending day in my jimjams was much needed.

Tonight WARMING ESPRESSO

Last week at work before 3 weeks off. Of course that means I have to get at least 4 weeks worth of work into this week in order not to leave them up shit creek. Kind of defeats the point really...

Enjoy your holiday Gorgon. I currently work pretty much 7 days a week, but at least I don’t start until 12.

Oh, and any Londener, if you could accidentally knock Boris Johnson off his bike, that would be much appreciated

Good news: spa company have finally booked in an engineer to come and fix me tub.

Shit news: It's next Monday - aka my last day of the school holidays.

Got back from a mini-holiday. Went sailing up north with my parents and GF, was pretty good. Got bit sunburned but hey-ho. The day after we got back me and the GF borrowed her dads car and some camping equipment from my parents and drove to Luxemburg to have a bit of a holiday. Was good time, we went to visit some castles, had a day in Trier and did a long long walk along a very pretty path. On the way back we went to visit the Bastogne War Memorial museum thing. Quite interesting, but the museum was a bit of a mess. All in all a pretty good short holiday to a place where we'd never go otherwise, but was perfect for just a few days of holiday.

My best friend in Holland has been in Luxemburg on holiday the past week. He seemed to have enjoyed it, although he had some thunderstorms.

So I decided driving taxis 7 days a week wasn’t enough, so I took on some addition translation projects . Shame there is no full-time translation job available (Dutch is not really a big language in the UK), as it pays really well. I suspect though with the inpending Brexit looming, projects will become more frequent.

Yeah the thunderstorms were pretty mental, first night we were there it went on all through the night. It only rained a short while twice on one day otherwise though, all the bad stuff came at night.

Good luck with the translating stuff, would be nice to slowly replace your taxi work with that.
