Kemper Gang?

I've been going through some of the stock and other profiles on my kemper... and I've basically come to the conclusion that I need to blow away all of them except for Top Jimi (Brown sounds), Michael Britt profiles I already have, and stock up on more Michael Britt profiles.

I would rather have 200 excellent sounding, perfectly usable, profiles... than have 2000 profiles and 80% are hot garbage. :helper:

Oh HELL YEAH!!!!

Kemper is working on an Acoustic Simulator which sounds really good (not to replace a real acoustic, but when you need one in one song on a cover gig, or in my case of live looping varieties of instrument sounds)

But then I mentioned how much I would love a BASS SIMULATOR since they have pitch and formant effects built in....
... to which Kemper responded directly to my request with another video with the acoustic pitch shifted down to sound like a bass (after 0:19)!!!!

EDIT: follow link, Video Part 3 in comments, 0:19 seconds in.

Oh this is a happy day!!!!!

Took quite a few months but I finally updated and got the editor installed... :embarrassed:
Better use the downtime these days to do a bit of cleaning.

In the process of getting rid of all the profiles on it that I know I'm never ever going to use.
A lot of the pre-installed ones really are shite.

Starting up the editor I realized I'm already up to almost 1000 profiles, which is just ridiculous. :embarrassed:

Thanks @Dexter Inferno ..... I didn't jump on the latest firmware or editor because I heard nightmares of people bricking their Kemper Stages. Chances are it was mostly a handful of people who did stuff like pull the power before the firmware was installed or used a sad-corrupted USB... but I wanted to be safe.

Yeah, I've had zero issues with the editor so far. I think a lot of those people experiencing problems are the sort of guys that struggle with reading instructions.
Either that or trying to run it on windows 7 which isn't supported.

Only little issue I had was I had no sound right after the OS update finished, but a reboot took care of that.

I did update using a USB drive though. I still don't really trust Rig Manager for doing that. :embarrassed:

I joined the Kemper club a few months ago (in a manner of speaking). All guitars in 'Tina - The Musical' shows worldwide are run on Kemper's with identical patches. They were programmed long before I got there, but they sound amazing.

Has anyone tried using kemper for vocals? I've seen a few studio preamps and such that have been profiled, if anyone has any tips on recording vocals (or know of good resources online), please let me know?

Interesting! Never even considered doing that...
Obviously a lot of cool effects type stuff you can do with it I guess, but I keep forgetting to try it out. :embarrassed:

So far I've only used "full releases" but I can't take it anymore.... I need that acoustic simulator and am loading the Beta!

Wish Me Luck!!!

(The electric band doesn't have any gigs for a few weeks, so I have a little time to weed out software bugs. )

Fwiw, I just got the new 68' Purple Plexi pack from Tone Junkie. If you dig that sound (and to be honest, who doesn't?) I can absolutely recommend it. Think it's still 50% off btw.
Sounds incredible. :thu:
