OMG Politics, I'm over it already.

Holy crap I need that!

FIFY

What/who we need is Jon Stewart. He missed out on the pinnacle of political absurdity that the Trump Circus has provided.

A coworker just raised an interesting possibility: Trump picks Sanders as his running mate.

At first, I thought it was crazy, but the more I thought about it, the more I realized that it made sense for Trump. Unless something drastic happens, Clinton will win the general by a handy margin. However, if Trump can get even a portion of the Sanders supporters, he'd have a good shot.

Sanders and Trump have more in common than differences. Trump needs someone with political experience. Both are outsiders, and both have campaigned on the evils of big money in politics.

I'd hope that Sanders would have more about him than to take the offer, but I have to admit, if I were Sanders, I'd be sorely tempted to grab such a great opportunity to give a big middle finger to the Democratic party and their super delegates.

Huh? Do tell. As I said there is Howe sound for water, mountain biking nearby, and skiing. Or I suppose there is Nelson or Kelowna. But no salt water then.

EDIT: how the heck did I misspell "there" in that sentence before I corrected it!?
Isn't Squamish the water sports capital of the known universe, or something like that?

And a short drive to Whistler for skiing.

I doubt it will happen, Sander's has morals... maybe. I also think the Clinton / Trump general election may be a lot closer than people think.

The super-delegate thing needs to be fixed before I'd consider voting for a democrat (although I would vote for Sanders).

Clinton pledged delegates: 1705, Sanders: 1414 - hmmmm, close race.

Not really.

Superdelegates for Clinton: 523, Sanders 39

Don't worry, those superdelegates know what's best for y'all.

Yeah, no. This isn't quite the WWE yet, not 100%.

But with the help of a couple of red states, we could achieve that goal by 2020.

Super delegates vote for what they feel is in the best interest of the ticket. Considering Sanders is really a life-long Independent running as a Dem, it's not at all surprising that the count is lopsided...even to Sanders. His path to the nomination would involve him winning the popular vote handily as a demonstration of his strength in the general. That hasn't happened...but it did in 2008. And the SDs wisely supported the stronger candidate, Barack Obama.

i think everyone can run and rerun scenario after scenario......what did sammy hagar call it? oh yea......mental masturbation.

until the GOP convention happens, i don't think anyone can guess what's going to happen. there seems to be quite a few delegates that REALLY don't want to hand trump the nomination. there are a few things that can happen at that convention that could be very unusual.
the opening of the convention could have a superdelgate move to open the rules committee, and if paul ryan allows that, then they could change the rules of delegate votes.
they could eliminate the first vote and move directly to casting votes. if the GOP has some dark horse in the wings....they could do an end around trump and put their own guy in. it would be pretty unprecedented...but they could do it.

No. The convention is a given. That's done. In the bag. The pageantry will be weird and tacky. And Ted Cruz might be trying to do his thing. But there will be no contest w/r/t the nomination.

The presidential election itself will be a shit-show, though.

I think based on this little promo vid, the phrase is outdoor recreation capital of the world or something like that. :) And there is lots of mountain biking!

(I chose this video as it is closer to what i would be doing, rather than the downhill bros that I found in other vids. )

And I could get this boat down in Bellingham, and sail it around in the US San Juans, and Canadian Gulf Islands from Howe Sound.
