I think President Shitgibbon honestly believes all the right-wing bullshit about Obama being an evil Muslim dictator ruling by fiat with executive orders. He doesn’t understand that the Obama administration went to a great deal of trouble to craft orders that were mostly constitutional and couldn’t simply be rescinded. Trump is enraged that Obama’s orders created years of roadblocks for the GOP, but the Muslim ban is getting slapped down over and over. It hasn’t even occurred to him that the team of hill staffers who wrote the muslim ban know fuck all about writing legislation. They spent the last eight years jacking off while their bosses voted against Obama and crapped out useless Obamacare repeal bills. Anything they come up with is going to be junk.

remember, TWO federal courts put it down. SCOTUS will not hear it, unless there is a compelling civil rights violation, and since this XO IS a civil rights violation, SCOTUS won't hear it. unless dumpster can find a federal court that will rule to other way, without major court conflict....SCOTUS won't hear it. it's how the rules work.

Ask an expert federal lawyer like Jeffrey Toobin for the technical details. I'm just reminding that today's ruling was about the Trump attempt to reinstate the ban. This will very likely go to the SCOTUS at some point since Trump won't back down or withdraw the order.

And despite the terms of "conservative" judge vs. "liberal" judge, it is not so black and white. A conservative judge means something different from a conservative member of congress. Liberal too. Often, when speaking about judges, liberal and conservative means more about their approach to legal reasoning than it does about political preferences.

with respect to this particular XO....i don't see a liberal justice voting to put it back in place. i mean.....it clearly does not create security for the country. no muslim IMMIGRANT from one of those contries has committed and act of terror in the US. so their justification for the order has no merit. therefore, the only real result of the order is to commit discrimination against muslims. if i read the 9th's reasoning correctly.
