I know those people. They are heavily armed and can't wait to "exercise their rights" now that they feel so empowered.

For the time being I feel no threat, but I'm a white male.

So far, their target is brown people. But the white supremacists are pushing forward. I'm on a list somewhere.

Remember when all those classic, priceless corvettes fell through that sinkhole in Bowling Green?

Even that wasn't a massacre.

January jobs numbers out and they exceed expectations. Many analysts are attributing this to optimism in the many business sectors about de-regulation & infrastructure spending; construction, manufacturing and retail sectors grew.

Nonfarm payrolls increased by 227,000 jobs last month, the largest gain in four months, the Labor Department said on Friday. But the unemployment rate rose one-tenth of a percentage point to 4.8 percent and wages rose only by three cents, suggesting that there was still some slack in the labor market.

Well, that is good news. Kind of hard to find anything good to grab hold of these days. I imagine the desire to deregulate the shit out of things has probably helped the economy a bit. I hope the jobs and economic growth are worth whatever ills come from the deregulation. Some government crap needs deregulating, but the dumping coal runoff into streams and similar horse shit isn't something I think we need to deregulate. Anyway, it is always good to see job growth.

Remember everyone, unemployment numbers don't mean anything because they only count people collecting unemployment. Real unemployment is usually twice the number. And then there's underemployment. Trump is here to fix all of this and make sure everyone knows the real number is between 15 to 20%. :embarrassed:

It seems like if we've leaned anything about regulatory oversight over the past decades, it is there's a fine line between not enough or too much. Too much can stifle innovation and opportunity but too little leaves us with possibility of financial crisis, environmental catastrophe and consumer safety issues. I'm glad to see a desire to streamline cut the proverbial red tape but hopefully we aren't letting the foxes into the hen house.
