David Stanley’s Religious Pandering Has Reached New Holiday Lows…

Over the past couple of days, I’ve received numerous emails, messages and snaps from Ogle Moles asking about the Fox News-inspired David Stanley holiday ads that have been running on local TV. Before we get to them, I’d like to share our TLO Bible Verses of the Week:

Do not exploit the poor because they are poor and do not crush the needy in court, for the Lord will take up their case and will exact life for life.

— Proverbs 22:22-23

“Because the poor are plundered and the needy groan, I will now arise,” says the Lord. “I will protect them from those who malign them.”

— Psalm 12:5

Just like last year’s commercials, the new David Stanley spots pander to ultra-conservatives, religious zealots and the Oklahoma legislature. One of them literally starts with the phrase “Big Government Has Failed Us On All Fronts,” which I guess is kind of true when you consider David Stanley is still open and doing business.

Check it out:

Yes everyone, it’s official. Even though a car dealer can freely exploit the religious meaning of Christmas in TV commercials that air in heavy rotation on the 10pm news, the government and PC police are trying to silence Rob Stanley’s “freedom of Christian expression and faith.” Also, “God has seen it all,” so if you’re a David Stanley salesman, please don’t try the old bait and switch on the Lord the next time he comes inside to buy a new car. He may send a hail storm in the dealership’s direction as retribution.

Here’s the other commercial making the rounds…

That’s nice. I bet Jesus got a kick out of that. I heard he’s actually a big fan of the dealership. It’s the only place in town that will give an unemployed carpenter with no credit a car loan…. at 22% interest… for 82-months… with the warranty.*

Anyway, I don’t know about you, but I totally trust David Stanley so much more now that I know they say MERRY CHRISTMAS and Love Jesus and America. Who cares that David Stanley has been fined nearly $400,000 since 2014 for deceptive advertising, that they’re involved in several civil lawsuits alleging fraud. They are good devout Christians, which means they are more reputable and trustworthy than those inconsiderate losers who are inclusive of all people and faiths during the holiday season. Merry Christmas!

P.S – Despite everything being public record, we’re still the only media outlet to cover David Stanley’s fines and lawsuits. Considering the web traffic and social media shares these stories generate for us, you’d think the desperate for clicks and ratings local TV news media would be all over this. I wonder why they haven’t covered it?”

So it looks like the California secession group is a little more serious than the ones in Texas and Alaska. This is pretty cool. I hope they can do it so it will be the first step in splitting the country.

The Cascadia concept has been rolling around for over a decade. I think it would be more practical that 'calexit'

i think for any kind of secssion to be a viable idea, you would need several states on board (civil war). one state can't pull it off.

edit: especially with the number of DoD assets in that state. marshall law will be declared, and that will be the end.

I think the exact opposite. If only South Carolina had seceded, they could have pulled it off. It wasn't until the other states started jumping in.

If CA voted to secede, they pull their folks out of congress and stop paying federal income tax. Is the government going to arrest the whole state? I wonder what they could do?

What you you declare marshall law on? People going to work and minding their own business? It isn't like the state goes into a violent rage with looting and riots.

yes....they would declare marshall law on the entire state. and the army and marines would be rolling tanks in the streets. perhaps you're not aware of what installations are in calif. the second calif would secede, the USA would declare war on it. and win. DoD/Pentagon is NOT gonna give that stuff up. AND the access to the Pacific ocean.

edit: Iowa might get away with it, but never calif.

Who said CA wouldn't give them access? It doesn't have to be a bitter divorce, I mean we have military bases in a ton of foreign countries why would this have to be any different?

why on earth would a state secede without acrimony? there's no point to becoming your own country, if you just going to continue to play along.
