To be fair, Iraq did, at one point, have WMDs, Rumsfeld helped Saddam get them when he worked for Reagan. They didn't know he already used them all when we went in

That's cutting the Bushies far too much slack. It wasn't "We knew he had WMDs in the past ... guess he musta used em up!"

It was "We know he has little/no WMD program or stockpile, but we're going to ignore that and tell the American people the lie that Iraq is a threat. And we're going to sell it as the absolute truth."

I believe prayer in school should be allow by all denominations. If a child is raised with no relation to religion then they can go do what it is they do. If you have a holiday that brings you joy then celebration in a greeting such as Merry Christmas, "Happy Festivus for the rest of us" is encouraged. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Festivus Screw CC.

But Trump's pick for Secretary of Education is a big common core supporter.

Private religious schools are a great place for prayer in school. If you want your child to pray in school, send them there. New SoE is gung ho for vouchers so people can send their kids to private schools and charter schools.
I wouldn't want to send my kid to a damn cult. People have to function together separating them is bull shit.

but it already is........

https://www.washingtonpost.com/blog...school-prayer/2011/12/23/gIQAHHJoEP_blog.html

"The U.S. Supreme Court has never ruled that kids can’t pray in school. What the Court has done — and continues to do — is to strike down school-sponsored prayers and devotional exercises as violations of religious liberty.

As a result of those decisions, school officials may not impose prayers, or organize prayer events, or turn the school auditorium into the local church for religious celebrations.

Students, however, aren’t the government; they can — and often do — openly pray and share their faith in public schools."

I said nothing about separating them in the school.

Really?

If a child is raised with no relation to religion then they can go do what it is they do.

So while the religious kids are praying, the other kids have to go do what it is they do? How about we just keep education in schools and religion in the home or church? Is that so fucking difficult?

I hope charter schools have gotten better. In 2000, I was working for an IT consulting company. One of our customers was a charter school in DC that was technology focused. I had to go teach there a few times until we had a regular teacher hired. It was a complete and total joke, a way for the folks that ran the school to funnel money to themselves. They had no text books, they decided since it was IT focused, they would use an online curriculum. That would have been great except they had no internet access. I had to teach a Visual Basic programming class. With no materials and in a class of 30 students, we had 3 or 4 Apple computers. Visual Basic is a Microsoft product that only runs on Windows. I had to teach a second class for PC repair. It was supposed to get the kids ready for the A+ exam. That class didn't even have a computer in it. Not even a broken one that I could show them how to take it apart and put it back together and identify the pieces. the funny thing was the local news was praising the new DC charter schools.
