What can we expect from someone who had been a dictator (both business and personal) his entire adult life?
images
and almost everyone he's picked for his crew have been virtual dictators for a long time too.
and the people he's picked for all these offices/departments have been fighting to shut those very offices/departments down for years.

^ Republicans always try to do this. Luckily most were stymied by a hostile house or senate at least part of the time, so they just eliminate personnel and contract out as much as they can executively and redirect spending to their cronies instead. How do I know this? I worked for Reagan, Bush I, Clinton, Bush II, and Obama. At least Obama let me retire early when he cut spending after the "stimulus".
I'm talking mostly about domestic spending. Military spending is a whole nother ball o wax. What money Republicans manage to "save" domestically is always inconsequential to the money they throw at wars and their buds in the MIC.

yea....but the problem with that this time is that the GOP owns the House and the Senate and are about to own SCOTUS. so they are likely to actually get away with it this time. or at least do so much damage that all those departments will be useless.

Our only hope is the Rep House and Senate get crossed up with Trumpy at least some of the time over who's buddies are gonna get the goods.
The SCOTUS issue, all we can hope is the current lineup stays healthy as long as possible. Even tho they are sure to be the minority in short order.
If I was a liberal justice, I'd hire a food taster....

Can someone enlighten me on what the suspected mechanism(s) of the election process were allegedly interfered with? I haven't heard this (expexted) level of detail yet...?

From what I gather it was mostly misinformation, a bunch of the fake news stories were said to have originated in Russia. Also, stirring up the clinton investigation pot and showing the dirty secret emails from the Dem hack. The republicans were hacked as well, but none of it was released.

Currently the only FBI acknowledged or otherwise confirmed hack on the Republican side was the Illinois State branch of the Republican party & the released emails were all basically run of the mill procedural stuff. The GOP national committee insists they have not been hacked. However, the security briefings that were recently conducted seem to conclude a suspicion of a larger data breech than has been reported so far & the compromised data has been withheld.

w/r/t the cabinet picks tearing the systems apart from with-in, I guess that's what people who supported Trump were looking for. Tea party hammer time! From most all other perspectives it's a WFTBBQShite show.

"I wanted to meet with Trump today to discuss multicultural issues," the Life of Pablo rapper explained on Twitter. "These issues included bullying, supporting teachers, modernizing curriculums, and violence in Chicago. I feel it is important to have a direct line of communication with our future President if we truly want change."

"“We’ve been friends for a long time,” Mr. Trump told reporters. Asked what he and Mr. West talked about, he responded: “Life. We discussed life.”"

I listen to NPR a lot, but they're not an example of minimal partisan bias. I'd move them over to the left, a lot.

I do to though I find what they chose to report on more of a reflection of bias than their actual reporting, which often attempts to include multiple points of view.

i don't see any PBS sources on the diagram. i think they're pretty fair, mostly. and they don't take stock/talking point answers either. you answer their question, or they keep asking it, and you look like an idiot. i've watched charlie rose not let them dosy do.

Agreed. There was a time when NPR was fairly unbiased. But when I was on their site yesterday it seemed like the headlines had been written at a coffee shop/bookstore in Portland. Not outright false or overrun with op-eds like Huffington Post, but it was clear that they know who their donors are and preach to that choir.

Nothing says tasteless like staging a photo-op with Kanye west while the Syrian army is reportedly raping and mass-murdering anybody still alive in Aleppo.

As I've said before, the US is so disturbingly right-wing that any attempt at balanced coverages of both sides is, inherently, extremely biased.

Like if NBC started covering my kid's swimming lessons as though it were the Olympics.

If the US could see itself as the rest of the world sees it, it might recognize that the continued existence of the GOP as a major party is an international embarrassment.

Or maybe not.

Saw this posted on FB...Don't really agree with certain placements but it's an interesting visualization to start discussing how various outlets fit in the mix.

Fox News should be in the same category as the National Enquirer. I try to watch it sometimes, but I think sometimes they must sit in the back and bet each other who can make up the most outlandish story and get the viewers to believe it.
