live by the tweet, die by the tweet?

i'm reading that McConnell is backing calls for an investigation into the russian hacking of the election, and Schumer is on board too.
maybe this thing will get real traction and we'll find out just how much damage it caused to the election. maybe the dumpster didn't actually win.

At least so far they are pursuing an investigation. I was actually pretty surprised by McConell. Not too surprised by McCain and Graham, they both despise Trump, probably as much as most liberals.
Considering Graham publicly supported Evan McMullin, this should prove to be an interesting term for him.

I don't have a problem with this because for 10 years I both received and gave daily security briefings being part of U.S. Nuclear resource teams in the states and overseas and 99 percent of the time you're not brief on status items. The 1 percent is because something popped off that wasn't part of that day's initial briefing. 911 not on that mornings briefing. Boston, not on that mornings briefing.

so now the dumpster is considering carlie fiorino for director of national intelligence. this is the person who nearly bankrupted hewlitt-packard with her 'intelligence'.

please please please electors, don't throw us to the wolves that are circling.

HP was a giant when she took over and she nearly killed them. She is a perfect match for Trump.

You are reading too much into McConnell's statement. He's basically saying we need to look at any possible Russian hacking, but NOT look at how said hacking might have affected the outcome of the election. Seriously.

He has preordained that anything discovered during Russian hacking investigation that casts doubts on the legitimacy of Trump as president would be nothing more than partisan politics and sour grapes.

Can someone enlighten me on what the suspected mechanism(s) of the election process were allegedly interfered with? I haven't heard this (expexted) level of detail yet...?

The allegations at hand are that the CIA believes Russian government (probably the FSB) hired a third party hacker—for the purpose of plausible deniability—to hack both GOP and DNC email systems. All email was retrieved from both parties. Then somebody, either the FSB or a third party working for the FSB, leaked the DNC emails to Wikileaks. Rudy Giuliani said something on TV about the Trump campaign being in communication with Russia while all the was going on, but that might have just been the usual dumb shit falling out of his phony-security-expert mouth.

The FBI believes that something else may have happened. But after the last-minute stunt Comey pulled nobody in government or the press trusts the FBI regarding email leaks.

So there are some very important possibilities that need to be investigated and the results made public:
  1. Is the Russian government attempting to manipulate the results of US elections?
  2. Did the GOP get hacked and not report it?
  3. Did the the CIA find out that the GOP got hacked and the GOP didn’t know? This would be n indicator that Russia is priming the USA for embarrassing GOP email leaks to politically destabilize the Federal government.
  4. Does the Russian government definitely have GOP and/or Trump campaign emails that could be used for blackmail?
