So I am going to cue up "First Blood" for Veteran's day and watch a mis-treated veteran shoot up some rednecks tonight. Not that it has any bearing on anyone real, but just always kinda liked that movie.

How would all the privately held guns be collected, may I ask?

Here ya go

I don't believe that. But that side does hold SOME of my values. Way more than the other side.
Based on my wife's occupation, and her being the main bread winner in our family, we should vote Democrat. But we don't because we trade some things for not being taxed in a higher bracket even though we basically live paycheck to paycheck. We don't literally, but the extra taxes would kill us. Among other things.

I'm not interested in justifying my vote other than to say I do because of a very small, specific set of concerns.
Am I a racist/sexist/homophobe bc of that? No. Is Trump? Maybe.
He's not even sworn in yet. As Hillary said, give him a chance to lead. If he screws up, we fix it. Just like EVERY OTHER PRESIDENT REPUBLICAN AND DEMOCRAT THAT HAS SCREWED STUFF UP BEFORE.

Wanna know what I told my 10 year old about Trump? Nothing. Bc he's 10. And by the time he can vote he'll make his own decision and we'll be 8 years in the future.
Yes, some potential problems could last longer than that, but I live with issues that came to be before I could vote and guess what? I'm still alive, employed, and happy.

I just can't understand the over reactions in a lot of cases. But clearly I'm alone in that.
*rolleyes*

Without Reagan convincing the religious right that they were the god party, I doubt there would be many republicans left in office. They get nearly 100% of the evangelical vote. Hell, you can't even run as pro life in the GOP, you will not get the votes.

FWIW, if you think you are taxed less under a republican, I hope you are a multi millionaire. They are the only folks who benefit from the GOP tax cuts. their whole trickle down economic theory that has been proven false for decades.

I'm not saying everyone who voted for Trump is a racist, misogynistic person. If you voted for him then you showed you are ok with than line of thinking steering the country.

So first he put lobbyists on his transition team after vowing to rid Washington of them, then he says he might not repeal Obamacare, now he is saying hold your horses on the wall. He hasn't even been president elect for a week and his is already back pedaling from 3 of his major stances. Boy I'm glad he wasn't my candidate.

A lot wouldn't be. It's not hard to hide them. Especially if they're not registered. But it sure would make them hard to use for sport if they were illegal wouldn't it?
How did they do it in Australia? o_O

Simple. The vast majority of Aussies were so fed up with handgun violence that THE PEOPLE demanded that handguns be made illegal. The Aussies simply looked around and said "Whoa, these things provide far more danger than they do benefits, so let's get rid of them." And they did.

And despite what the NRA claims will happen if you don't own a gun for self protection, none were raped and murdered in their homes by hordes of roving criminal gangs suddenly empowered by a gunless population.

except that australia doesn't have anywhere near the criminal element in their country that the USA has. the gangs in this country alone warrant home defense firearms.

Reagan was genius for convincing Christians that the Republican party was the party of God, and it provided great benefits for the short term. Unfortunately, the religious folks eventually started to wise up to the fact that the the Republican party could not deliver the Christian Caliphate they've been promising since Reagan, and their supported started to wain. This caused the Republican party to court the tea party and other extreme right factions. This in turn led to an avalanche to the right, and a Republican party in shambles as it attempts to figure out what it is.

Perhaps they staunched the rise of a criminal element by ending the pipeline of guns to would be criminals?

what it is .....is christo-fascists. religious liberty laws. my religion is more important than your religion or your constitutional rights. and that's where the FAIL is.

right....the country was founded as a penile colony....no criminal elements there.

the vast majority of australia is near wilderness. my point was that the firearms laws that have been passed in that country were not beccause of some 'explosion' of cime...but more of a reaction to the crime that was happening everywhere else.

the country WAS a dumping place for the british for the most undesirable criminals....in the 1880's. it has since become a very civilized (except for the out back) nation.

I know man, I'm just messing with you. You seemed to completely contradict your self on consecutive posts and I thought it was funny

Seriously...When is the protesting shit going to stop?
I'm sure that there's always some people that live on the edge of breaking out on to the street in hopes that other will follow because, well, that's their nature and they really have nothing better to do.

When do you shut your pie hole, pack things in, and be a normal person?..LOL...I was going to say a normal person 'again'..

The chips are going to fall where the chips fall...

Those people should be rounded up and deported to.......NOOOOOOOOOO...Not Canada.....Fuck that shit....I take back all I said..

It's all cool\good...Chill\relax....Phew....

Honestly, the biggest examples of so-called political correctness in American culture are the way that Intelligent Design is taught in science classes where Natural Selection is not, how sex education is limited to abstinence-only, etc.

Agree, but you're going off into another realm entirely here from my original point. Verbal communications, how George Carlin could be not politically correct and still not be disrespectful and abusive.

Comedy has always been a special case, though. We've always allowed that to have its own rules. Court jesters could say things to the King that nobody else could.

Any more examples? Or are comedians being persecuted by liberals?
