OMG Politics, I'm over it already.

You have to admit this election cycle was pretty fascinating in retrospect. We'll get to see what President Trump can do with the backing of a Republican majority and his unorthodox platform. Roll back the clock a couple elections ago and there were the same sky is falling concerns in conservative circles when President Obama came out of no where and won. You're not moving out of the country. The world isn't ending tomorrow. Yeah, this has some drastic ramifications for foreign policy, trade, & the affordable health care act is pretty much going to die. My personal concern is that ground is not lost in the next 4 years on the social progress this country has made (though many suggest there's a good portion of the country that may not see it as progress based on this election but I don't think it's that simple).

But the last time we had an under educated "shoot from the hip" president (W) we were falsely led into multiple wars, buried under crippling debt, and the economy crashed. The economies of the world are shaky enough that I fear we would not do well if it happens again.

All red states will now have the suffix, "-tucky". I'm looking at you, Pennsyl-tucky.

Hey!!!.....yeah, we pretty much suck.

In the back of my mind I knew there were problems when it took me 45 minutes to vote yesterday morning and I passed another polling place on the way home from work and there was a line around the building. I knew almost none of those people were voting for Hillary.

I am saddened by the result, but have to, as always, accept the outcome of the election. I will continue to work for the things I believe in, and for those who support those beliefs. At the same time, I will not downgrade the winners, and will let their actions speak for themselves.

There are many times in my life where people thought we would not survive a person's term in office. We have always come through those times. I will not despair or disparage.

Fact: 65 percent of you who said you couldn't stand Trump on this website actually voted for him and instead of taking a stand the news is referring to you as the uneducated un-silent majority.

Someone needs to throw this in his face and challenge his ego to do better.

With congress and the house leaning his way, it should be a piece of cake.
Obama did it with a somewhat opposing congress and house. Right?

If I could convince Ashlee to leave with me, I'd be on it right now. I would sell every piece of gear I own to finance it if I had to.

Her morning has been a disaster. It took everything she has in her to get up and go talk to her clients about the instability and what they stand to lose.

Agreed.

Maybe this is America hitting rock bottom. The place the country really needed to be before beaing able to turn it around.

Or we could be pulling an Amy Winehouse...

I really hope the DNC and the super delegates are happy. The next 4 years and all of the horrible supreme court decisions are on them. Don't get me wrong, I like Clinton, but she is probably the only democrat that could have lost to Trump.
Watching the results last night the first thing that came to mind is that if this is how the DNC performed against Trump and all that had happened this year then they could't fist fuck their way out of a wet paper bag. They need to be dismantled just like the GOP.

So are we gonna get recounts and what not, or is it pretty much a done deal at this point?
If the Democratic party demands a recount after denigrating Trump for claiming the election was rigged it would be a hypocrisy so big it would cause a rift in the space time continuum...

There is no reason for one he won both the popular and EC vote...it's over...

Shit, no one wanted to run as a Democrat, look at the sad selection that was placed on the stage. There was no choice, Dems were made to think they had a choice but they didn't. Clinton was bought and paid for to be the Dem selection the day Obama was nominated as the Dem candidate for President. It was a you back out now I'll give you a job and I'll give you unbelievable support.

This thread is comedy gold. I've never seen so much butthurt and defeatism (not sure that's a real word).
Look, the sun is up, my kids are healthy, I'll still work hard for them and so will my wife. I'm mostly glad my family didn't get bumped into the "filthy rich" tax bracket.
Life goes on. He's not even sworn in yet.
Everyone deserves a chance right? Isn't that the favorited mantra? Then stick to it. Good grief.

Actually she has close to a 150k lead in the popular vote. I don't see asking for a recount the same as claiming the election is rigged. As we all saw in Bush V Gore, there are a ton of ways ballots can legitimately be off and I never stop hearing about one of them  There is a difference in saying she cheated and we need to make sure all the votes are counted.

So you're still hanging around then?

Apologies haha, I drank waaay too much last night and got about 3 hours of sleep :embarrassed:
