OMG Politics, I'm over it already.

Just because we elect these politicians into office does NOT mean that we control the choices that come afterwards. "We the People" didn't create this shamble of a government....the corrupt people we put in office did. We just have to live with the consequences.
Clearly the American people are sick of it. That's why Trump was elected instead of Hilary "Same ole, Same ole" Clinton.
Please elaborate how the fact that you elect them doesn't put you in control. There's no gun to anyone's head to vote for just the two options the major parties present on any level. If you want change, make change happen, stop sheepishly walking behind the two molochs you kept electing and empower and support others. The only real barrier here is mental. Also, you have complete freedom to participate in politics yourself. Blaming the system while sitting by passively is what puts you out of control, not the system. Democracy requires more than just dragging your ass to the polls every four years...

Ok....let's say I want all the illegal immigrants out of the country. Please, YOU tell me how to MAKE this change...?
Help me to MAKE the politician that I voted for do what I want....
You can't either, can you....
Thanks anyway for your input.

Why would you want that?

The ballot in NC did not have write-omin spaces for national or state level.

I really hope the DNC and the super delegates are happy. The next 4 years and all of the horrible supreme court decisions are on them. Don't get me wrong, I like Clinton, but she is probably the only democrat that could have lost to Trump.

I'm just glad this whole election cycle is over. We've all taken a brutal psychological beating. For me, I'm diving into my work and my music.

I picked up my mandolin for the first time in years last night and discovered I could actually play it, so the wife and I are going to work on a duet.

Life goes on.

You have to admit this election cycle was pretty fascinating in retrospect. We'll get to see what President Trump can do with the backing of a Republican majority and his unorthodox platform. Roll back the clock a couple elections ago and there were the same sky is falling concerns in conservative circles when President Obama came out of no where and won. You're not moving out of the country. The world isn't ending tomorrow. Yeah, this has some drastic ramifications for foreign policy, trade, & the affordable health care act is pretty much going to die. My personal concern is that ground is not lost in the next 4 years on the social progress this country has made (though many suggest there's a good portion of the country that may not see it as progress based on this election but I don't think it's that simple).

Obama didn't come out of nowhere, he came from the Senate. And he didn't have a shit ton of baggage. And he didn't frighten people, aside from racist cunts.

out of nowhere from the perspective that early on, few thought he had a legit shot at the dem nomination and ultimately becoming President
