Kentucky Gov. Matt Bevin says bloodshed may be needed to protect conservatism

Can we just disolve the union now? Let the conservatives have their country and the liberals theirs. The conservatives can go ahead and outlaw abortion, keep the gays from getting married and keep that dangerous marijuana off the streets and the liberals can get high all day long and go to their free doctors to get abortions.

Hmm, so would that look like two seaboards and a few other places, then the middle as the two countries? Would be a weird looking map, if you are considering red and blue states. Maybe it will be a few little nations. I would probably move back to the left coast. Or, more likely, up into interior BC. I don't want to be a beta tester on the un-united states, v. 1.0

A family friend who emigrated to Cali about 20 years ago visited for the first time last month.

We all went out for drinks and the other day I got a text from my dad: "Big Stuart has sent a present for you."

It's a VERY FUCKING LARGE might I add, Trump T shirt. I'm not sure if he's being facetious or I've in some way insinuated to him that I support Trump when he was over

I'll do for working out I suppose.

I'm willing to try it. I'm sick of people saying we want less governemnt in our lives, well unless you are gay, or want an abortion or smoke pot, or if your religion isn't the same as mine then the government can tell you what to do. And if you get sick, I hope you are rich.

If it would work I guess I would be up for it. But I don't think the government finances work out. For instance, a place like Idaho receives way more federal money then it could ever generate. Oh, and that points out the other problem, a lot of our federal forest land and park land is in areas that would go red state and I am not willing to make that sacrifice.

You can visit. Well unless you are Muslim.

It'll do for mopping up oil leaks in the garage, I suppose.

but.....but.....but......there's hundreds of billions of dollars in cutting down those forests and building malls and subdivisions.

That’s why the conservatives would never do it. Most of those pull-yourself-up-by-the-bootstraps red state economies can’t survive without a steady stream of federal handouts.

As for the parks and forests, meh, I’ve lived in Colorado for four years and that stuff got old fast. There’s a reason that the wilderness is in the middle of nowhere.

yea.....wait till trump puts bechtel corp in charge of the department of the interior and watch how fast that disappears.
When I have some time, I am going to write a response that addresses that national parks are only a very small part of the issue. It is the forest service and Bureau of land management land that are the big things out here and that could be vulnerable to sail to extractive interests and etc.

I agree on your first point. On your second point, I am closing in on 19 years out here in the woods and I am OK with that. I can go visit civilization and regularly do.

oh...i know. i USED to go to a camp in the Allegheny National Forest, northern Pa. beautiful forested mountain wilderness, mostly. problem is, it's "national" land, not state land. you can't drive 2 miles without seeing a fracking well now. we're talking about 1500 square MILES.....all the streams have been sucked dry by those bastards. you can't find a deer these days. they left.
i know what you're talking about. i don't bother with the 4.5 hours drive (each way) any more. plus the camp has been sold, so there's that.
