Ok, same issue...

How is this any different than someone saying that the goal of Islam to to turn the world into a Muslim extremist theocracy? When that gets said the person saying it is labeled an Islamophobe...

So what do we call this? Christianophobia?

We absolutely do abhor and complain about Islamic states - and any other states - that fail to uphold internationally recognized human rights.

Separation of church and state is fundamental to 1st-world democracy; we've set higher standards and, as such, it is our solemn responsibility to apply those standards to ourselves.

One is a reality. The other is a fear mongering talking point.
On that point I completely disagree...both are equally real, Sharia law is as much an issue as Fundamentalism...not all Muslims are Sharia, not all Christians are Fundamentalists, but both are equally real...

every republican candidate this cycle had a major part of their platform that was going to 'return america to christian values, no same sex marriages, religious liberty laws (the ability to discriminate against anyone you want, justifying it by your religious convictions (kim davis)'

i am against those platforms. every GOP candidate supported those platforms, and still do. if that is NOT the goal of the GOP in general, where the hell are the GOP people that are against these platforms. oh wait. they're not against those platforms.

show me a major GOP member that supports same sex marriage.

plenty of muslim people have been very vocal against ISIS and what it stands for.
it's not the same thing.

The level of ignorance towards non-Christians, even here in NYC, is disgusting. Consumer culture only piles on. We're one step away from Christian theocracy. Sharia law here in the US will never happen under the current circumstances. It's a myth used to convince the uneducated to vote against their best interests.

Where we agree is that both major parties are responsible. But the message is clearly coming from the Republicans these days.

To clarify my point...I'm referring to the double standard the prohibits negativity towards Islam but allows negativity towards Christianity...

I prefer to keep religion out of politics...I'm not the one that brought it up...

i said major players....not has beens. Portman is maybe the only one in that list that's in the mix.
where does Cruz stand. where does Rubio stand. where does Kasich stand. where does Carson stand. where does Jeb stand.
those are current governors or senators. they are active and a part of the control of the GOP......not HW or Chenny.
No, you said "prominent republicans."...I'd say that a former president and VP are quite prominent...

As far as major players, I have 5, you asked for one...

Yeah the negativity towards Islam is being led by the right and Fox News to scare voters.

I'm not sure where people are calling all Christians terrorists and trying to ban them from coming into the country.

Honestly, other than people trying to keep religion out of politics, I don't see any war on Christianity. That is a made up story by Fox to take the attention off real issues.

You didn't bring it up. You are, however, arguing a point that is derived from fiction.
