the Padres aren't going anywhere. not with the Giants and Rockies. and the Dodgers might just surprise some people if somebody other than Clayton Kershaw shows up this season.

the Red Sox are the team to beat in the East. Yanks and Rays will beat up on eachother all year. one will win the wild card.

...eh, I wouldnt say they lost him...the rested him cause his calf was sore from a collision with Ben Francisco in saturdays game...he had a calf injury last year that took him out for a bit...he came in to pinch hit...

Lost Victorino? He played yesterday (pinch hit RBI single). The Astro's rotation is actually decent once they get Happ back, they just don't have the offense.

...yea, well ESPN can eat a bag of dicks for breakfast...you can predict all you wont, but that dont mean it will happen...after watching the first series, most of my worries went away...they held it together, and improved as it went on...although, naturally, they are gunna say that...a) people hate a successful team unless they are an underdog, and b) them saying that will guarantee website traffic...

i predict the Mets won't win the division. neither will Nationals or Marlins. :embarrassed:

BTW - the Rocks are off to a banner start. Two games - two starting pitcher injuries. Granted, both are minor injuries but it is not setting a good precedent.

the major problem with the article is that he's basing his preditions on Wins Above Replacement to an audience that doesn't understand the concept of the statistic. it has nothing to do with Philly fans and everything to do with baseball fans in general. the comments are right in that the article is probably better suited to a blog like The Good Phight on SB Nation where nerds debate stuff like this. but ESPN seems determined (along with the MLB Network) to bring fans kicking and screaming into SABREmetrics. hence this article.
 
I'm going to the Padre's home opener tomorrow, against SF!

This will actually be my first time to Petco Park.
