Surgery booked for next Friday.

Wowza. Glad you’re out and on the mend.

I’m about to cook and will be using tongs. Feel better all the way soon so you can tell me how wrong I am.

Have you tried, you know, respecting food?

Fresh from the gulf tuna steaks with soy sauce, sesame oil, salt and pepper seared in a super hot cast iron over a chimney starter. Flipped one time with tongs. I then used the coals to smoke a rack of ribs with some pecan we’re about to bust up on tonight.

Still doing well, and am feeling more like myself now that the steroid withdrawal symptoms seem to be mostly over with. Great time to be taking dexamethasone, am I right!?

That said, having major surgery at 35 really isn’t at all the same deal as having major surgery at 22 or 28. Everything aches.

This "getting older" shit ain't what they said it would be, ya know?

I did it for surgery. But I might keep it.
You did it to look like Gordie Johnson.
Admit it.

Though certainly not like anything you had my last surgery at 55 was easier than similar ones at 22 and 36. That said I hope I don’t test those waters now that I’ve broken 60.

Man, last time I had surgery I was eight. I am 62 now, and that wasn't long enough ago to make me want to do it again...
