Achtung! Sooooooooooo any of you guys interested in the international sawker cup?

As little as I know about futbol, Germany was my pick going in. I should've placed a bet from Las Vegas or something :embarrassed: If I' had done that though, it would've ensured that they would've gotten knocked out of the 1st round, that's how lousy my luck is when betting on something.

Hmmm....maybe I should start betting on Man. U to win matches

I mentioned this before in the thread, but I don't think there are any great teams in this WC

They are very good no doubt, but they have no great players and their huge win against brazil was due to Brazil being a bunch of cowardly, inept shitebags.

Still, they can only beat what's in front of them and they've done that admirably so far

That's the thing with them, they don't really have those big world class stars. On the other hand they don't have any weak links whatsoever (the only thing would be Mertesacker's lack of pace), a good manager and very clear playing style/philosphy. An extremely solid team that does its job.
Outside of Neuer, Hummels, Lahm and Kroos they could start with anyone in that squad and still win, while the other top teams this time are ridiculously dependant on their one world class player to deliver some magic for them to win (Messi, Robben, Neymar and so on) - or penalty shootouts...

Brazil's major problem imo is they're far too arrogant in relation to the actual quality of their team. You just don't win a World Cup when your options up front are Fred and Jo - and you completely abandon the football that once made you a force. It's not enough hoofing long balls up to Fred, putting everything on Neymar to do something magic with the second ball. They actually reminded me of how Norway played when we beat Brazil in 98. Difference is we played that way out of necessity, rather than choice - we just didn't have the quality to play otherwise.

OK, which one of you guys was this? Pretty good return on a $20 bet. :thu:

Ball clearly hits Vlaar after rebounding from the post, so there's no controversy (at least to me...)

This. It would never have been allowed as a goal either way as Vlaar touched the ball, and according to a tv channel here who have studied the video the ball never crossed the line either. It's a non story really.

Apart from that, the ref has a thing that buzzes or vibrates to let him know the ball has crossed the line with the goal line tech.
