As an American, I agree. Annoys the crap out of me. But we do have a large Spanish speaking influence so many are confused.

Me, I call it soccer so I dont have to qualify which football I'm talking about.

My personal rant: Everyone else, quit saying soccer is an American term, it came from England.

And I dont think soccer is a sissy sport, But many players have taken to acting like sissies.

Futbol actually makes more sense in regards to soccer than Football does to American Football (NFL).

I really wish soccer didn't have so many hypochondriacs in it, that's my only problem with the sport. Other than that, the principle is the same as hockey, really.....

This: The term soccer was derived in the late 19th Century from "Football AsSOCiation" (i.e. the FA) SOCcer as opposed to Rugby Union Football (i.e. "Rugger")
