I've always had a soft spot in my heart for Super Bowl XXIV (you know: Speed limit 55, Denver 10!) This 45-point blowout is essentially similar to an 8-2 score in soccer (for those American idiots who insist soccer is too low scoring -- perhaps a goal should count as seven points...)
 
This WC has gone too quick

So tonight, I'm sort of hoping Messi puts in the performance of his life then repeats it for the Final.

Reckon Argentina will win 3-1


No doubt it will now be a staggeringly boring 0-0
 
I'm expecting it to be a one-goal game (in terms of difference) -- perhaps 2-1. Although either team could come out on top, I'd bet on Argentina -- they just seem better in must-win situations.

Butthead is probably a nicer person though

Reckon he will do a good job for that lot next year ? He's usually good for a couple of years then people fall out with him

They should be quite better, but don't think he'll get them there in the first year. That squad needs a major overhaul imo (especially in defence and midfield).
Then there's the issue of RVP and Rooney. They clearly don't work very well together.

I doubt he's a long term thing to begin with really, rarely stays at one place for more than a couple of years.

Personally I'm quite chuffed my fave team now has a very good manager that looks like he'll be staying for a very long time. :)

Really can't see anyone beating the Germans right now. One thing is the tournament experience they have, but also the most complete team I can remember seeing in modern football. Messi would have to pull off something truly spectacular.
 
I mentioned this before in the thread, but I don't think there are any great teams in this WC

They are very good no doubt, but they have no great players and their huge win against brazil was due to Brazil being a bunch of cowardly, inept shitebags.

Still, they can only beat what's in front of them and they've done that admirably so far
