Probably. They do have a theoretical chance of surviving, but quite unlikely.
Only Roy Hodgson could take that many good footballers used to playing excellent attacking football and have them play like absolute shit.

Costa Rica has played very smart football. I thought Italy had their offside trap figured about halfway through the first half, but after about three minutes of good chances, they were shut down.
 
It's a strange world cup

Lots of exciting games, loads of goals, a bunch of the big teams are mince. Hosts are a bit crap too but will still probably get through to the semis/final easily enough

It's a shame this brazil team is so poor, it's the biggest problem of the WC to date. None of their strikers would get a sniff at starting say the 2002 team, only neymar would have a chance at the 98 one. And you'd still pick bebeto to complement ronaldo than him


Best result would be a completely unfancied team to win it, like Greece did in the euros, but not be so staggeringly boring to watch.
