Return to the Planet of the "Hey Euro's its that time again" Thread.

Nice and sunny and all clear here in the South West of England at the moment. Don't think that'll last however.

@Dexter Inferno - best of luck in whatever you do now. :thu:

@jbj - keep up, Dexter had a whole thread about it. Anyone would think you were busy with an award ceremony or something.

Yeah I must've missed that one

Ah well good luck. I think the only job I've ever properly resigned from was in the pub, every other one I've either been fired, walked out, didn't bother going back or timed out my contract - I've had a lot of shitty jobs

Good luck Dexter, I am sure you will be much happier

I have to go out today in the snow, not relishing the thought.

I have to go down to Aldi for a few things for dinner then I shall venture out again

To the pub

For some refreshing lager beers

If it's open

Our Aldi was open but closing early. I got my REFRESHING LAGER BEERS.

On a related note, came back from shopping when someone had crashed into my car because the sidepanel of bumper was shattered. There is now a big hole in my car, just like the one that got written off in December

I have no money to even pay excess for repair at the moment, so don't know what to do. Any advice?

That's shite mate. Hate hearing about wankers that do that.

Get a tap from someone you know?

What's the car and have you got any photos of the damage? If it's just the bumper you might be able to change it yourself with a bit of research on youtube for instructions and scouring the internet for parts. https://www.breakeryard.com/ has saved some of my cars several times in the past if you don't mind putting on a second hand part (or have a friendly mechanic around to fit it).

I have a few local guys recommended to me, so I am going to check them first. No way am I going to pay for excess and then also have my premium go up again

Just got back from New York. Didn't really get a lot of sleep while there, got a bit of a jetlag and my suitcase is still in London :embarrassed:

But it was a blast, got a lot of work done, had cool meetings with the people from NY we're working with and got to spend a couple of days roaming the city. Interesting place.

I'll read all your posts tomorrow when I feel like a human being again :embarrassed:

Sensible move. I have a great mechanic who runs a 2 man garage with his brother, saved me a load over manufacturer/mainstream garages. As I drive old bangers generally, he's also happy to just do the fitting if I can find the part on ebay/online/second hand to save money over paying for new parts from a manufacturer or local factor.

@Dexter Inferno Good luck on the life change man. I had a good experience giving up my job for doing something I'm way more into, but don't expect any results short term. Take some time to really figure out what to do, make lists of your options, don't try to be overly realistic (sometimes things that seem crazy/too far fetched lead to the best stuff).

@wok Car mojo, seems like people really love destroying your cars...

I forgot to mention in my previous post: While I was in NY a good friend of mine who's in the process of moving to Japan messages me that the place where her cats moved to was apparently shit and caused the cats to go all stressed and sick. So now we've got two cats staying over for a while :embarrassed: It's quite comfy having a pretty much permanent leg warmer while doing work :embarrassed:

I'm off for a weeks snowboarding tomorrow IF my flight leaves. The same flight has been cancelled the last two days. It's not supposed to snow again in London between now and tomorrow afternoon so fingers crossed my morning flight will be OK.

The snow has certainly got me in the mood!

Good luck with the flight pmc!

I'm sitting in the office with a lovely view of outside. Just popped out for lunch and it was quite an adventure. I feel very lucky that I live within walking distance of work.

Had a flight from Heathrow yesterday, and apart from a 30 minute delay because of congestion at the airport everything seemed fine. No idea where you're flying from, but unless circumstances are drastically different than in London there should be no reason for any cancellation. To be absolutely honest, the current bit of snow and cold shouldn't be any reason for consternation to begin with. It's pretty hilarious to see half of Europe go apeshit over what would be called a mild winters day here...

Also, have fun man  I wish I had the time to go snowboarding this year...

I'm flying from City which is great and convenient but risky whenever there is bad weather. My friends are going from Heathrow at 6AM, which I didn't like the sound of  Hopefully doesn't turn out to be a bad decision!

Snowing properly here in the South West. Nothing like as bad as the rest of the country got it earlier in the week as far as I can see, but f*ck me it's cold. Oslo was warm at -13ºC the other week by comparison. The wind chill is bitter!
