Return to the Planet of the "Hey Euro's its that time again" Thread.

Snowing properly here in the South West. Nothing like as bad as the rest of the country got it earlier in the week as far as I can see, but f*ck me it's cold. Oslo was warm at -13ºC the other week by comparison. The wind chill is bitter!

Way colder over here this week fwiw. -30 this morning. Quite unnecessary... :embarrassed:

Blizzards here today and cars abandoned left and right. British people are either pigheaded or stupid.

Yeah but you lot are hairy arsed Vikings and can deal with that shit wearing nought but a loincloth! :poke:

The rest of us normal humans can't deal with shit without thermals and stuff.

That is true.
Not unusual up here to be fair, but rarely in March. Still incredibly annoying though.

Had to break out the starter cables (or whatever you call it in English) this morning when going to work. Might need a new battery before next winter. :embarrassed:
Not bothering with changing that until temps are a bit better....

I kinda feel like we're over the worst of it here in Edinburgh. I mean it's actually snowing outside as I speak, but it's pretty light.

Had to drop the sister-in-law into town at 5 this morning to catch the airport bus. Main roads were OK to drive on, but getting my car out of the side street I'd been parked in for the past three days was very dicey indeed.

You also have to just get used to the cold a bit. When I first moved here -10 felt very cold, a couple of months later it felt completely normal. Of course crazy temperatures like -30 feels cold to anyone, but if you're used to low temperatures you're a lot more adjusted to it.

Inshallah we've seen the last of it here too. I'm gigging in Larkhall tonight which is reasonably local. Worst part about getting out and about is moving off / on my driveway which is rather steep and face right onto a bunch of parked motors across the road

still more snow here, absolutely crazy. I haven't seen anything like it in my 18 years in Scotland

Bit better temps over here today, only(!) about -13.

Good thing is any weather is a good excuse for some beer. Well, it is Friday.. :embarrassed:

The weather is a permanent excuse for some drinks:

It's raining, so sad, let's have a beer.
It's cold, so sad, let's have brandy.
It's snowing, so nice, let's have vodka.
It's warm outside, let's sit in the sun drinking beer :embarrassed:

Gonna start teaching my first proper course in two hours.

Other than that it's still cold as hell here. It's good though, there has been about 10cm of snow on the ground for months, the moment temperatures start hovering around 0 it'll turn into a slippery icy mess.

Nearly all gone down here so in work today after working from home Thursday and Friday.

Almost felt like a mini break, which has made it all the worse coming in today, particularly with certain colleagues being complete pillocks and f*cking shit up left, right and centre.

:HB:

Why is it not the weekend again?

:ksmash:

So the snow is melting and perhaps fittingly, I have handed in my notice at my job.

Feels like a weight has been lifted, but also anxious about the future.

Upwards and onwards etc.

Congratulations on the escape and best of luck for the future! :thu:

Back to work after a weeks snowboarding. Was good. Weather was mixed but we had some sun and some powder so can't complain. Of course it snowed like crazy yesterday and today is supposed to be glorious, dammit!
