Return to the Planet of the "Hey Euro's its that time again" Thread.

Lovely Spring day here.

Don't even need a jacket and as it's an Old Firm weekend..... that means I'm off down the bookies then the pub for some lager beers :embarrassed:

So got the friday evening all to myself.

Got some of these:

Look like a foamed up glass of Ribena. Not sure cherry has any place being in a beer but each to their own, enjoy!

Ooft. Woke up feeling quite tender. Turns out I boshed a 2nd bottle of wine I don't even remember :embarrassed:

Had a performance on Friday, hangover on Saturday, now listening to the GF doing a performance on the radio :embarrassed:

Past and coming weeks are/were crazy busy, but a lot of good stuff happening.

Ah yeah, and also got the invitation to perform at Noisefloor in Stoke-on-Trent in May

Ugh, when you are in your bed early and you are still awake at 2am and yo have to get up at 7

:bor:

My mrs was up at 4am for a flight to London.

Not to say I was imbibed with spirits on an old firm sunday but could I get back to sleep?

Yes

Was it intermittent and full of bizarre nightmare-ish dreams?

Yes :embarrassed:

On the plus side, I've been trying to rejig the work life balance with the DJing and that and realised that I only need 1 more booking in 2018 to gross even more dough than my boss so once that comes in I'm closing my books for the year

I'm always wide awake at 12:56AM. No point going to sleep until about 1:30 or so or I'll just wake up again :embarrassed:

My mrs goes to bed stupid early a lot of nights - well before 10

I'm usually good around 11 or Midnight and then I sit out the back until 4 or 5am on a Friday or Saturday after a gig and totally fuck up my circadian rythmn :embarrassed:

So, a week after I handed in my notice and I feel so much better. Although the money worries will be there for a while, stress has vanished and anxiety had reduced.

I have more time to do creative things ( music, digital design, study) and generally feel a lot more confident about future.

Band is also on the up, recruited a bassist recently and we have plenty of material ready :thu:

I'll chime in on this later on. I was at a DJ seminar last night and someone did a talk on work life balance and although I'm in no way burnt out, I'm making plans so that it never happens :thu:

Instead of a REFRESHING LAGER BEER I got a coffee stout from Aldi ( yeah, very hipster) and I actually quite liked it. Not too sweet and tasted of guinness with a mocha flavour. Will buy again

Glad to hear you're feeling good, wok. I remember one particular job that I quit a few years back where it took a good couple of weeks for my body to accept that I was free (if that makes sense).

I was burnt out in the last job I was in but didn't even realise it until I left!

Following the seminar on Wednesday about work life balance I decided I'd close my DJ diary after my next booking as that'll take me up to 40, lo and behold a company whose party I did last Christmas got in touch yesterday biting my hand off to get me back in this year so I achieved that without having to do a thing.

From January 2019 onwards I'm going to book a maximum of 3 gigs per month (except during the Summer holidays when mid-week gigs aren't such an issue) and stick to that. I'll still be earning plenty but I'll actually get time to enjoy it and spend it with my wife.

Geez, i feel rough today. Went round to some friends yesterday night for some pizza and drinks.

Drank a lot of prosecco. That stuff is evil, i got incredibly pissed, as in ‘i can’t speak properly’ drunk. I think i’ll stick to beer in the future.

:embarrassed:
