Evening chaps.

Was gigging at the Queen Mother's old manor last night. Took A LOT of will power not to accidentally have an antique copper pan or two fall into one of my bags on the way out :embarrassed:

Managed to break one of my toes yesterday morning too so yeah, bit of an eventful day - on the plus side, no gig tonight so I am about to jump in the shower then retire to my local hostelry for some refreshing lager beeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeerrssssssssssssss
 
Finished work early today, because I have a parent's evening at 5. Was a bit shit today, not made much money. Will probably work longer tomorrow

What are you up to these days? Thought I read you'd got something to tide you over, is it still the taxi driving?

Yes, driving taxi. It’s very relaxed, although today was a bit too quiet.
 
Speaking of driving automobiles - I passed the theory and hazard perception on a PCV licence this morning so if I ever get tired of the teaching I can take up bus driving :grin:

Trying to finally start actual work on my thesis :embarrassed:

Have to present my topic tomorrow, so I'm trying to make some sense out of the scarce notes I've been making over the last two years...

Should be fine, but my heart's not really in it at the moment as I've been working my ass off for fun (and paid) projects lately, so studies have been thoroughly ignored for about 3 months now :embarrassed:

Well, today's been an interesting end to the week before Easter.

Just attended a web based demo of a tool that might just be the answer to a lot of systemic problems we have at work and then get a call from my boss begging me to take on a secondment to a majorly senior role to help out the biggest project our company has. Food for thought this weekend.
 
Got my thesis subject accepted. Kind of last minute slapped together a chaotic presentation, but the reception was very enthousiastic. Head of the department was totally into my plan and wants to be my supervisor, so that's pretty nice.

Other than that spent some time writing applications to get some money to go to the UK in May. We got invited to play at a festival organised by the University of Staffordshire, so we'll be visiting Stoke-on-Trent.
