Now that we're into a couple weeks of Corvfefe what have you been creating in the kitchen?

Grilled burgers with ground brisket again. Outrageous!

They are a little hard to form patties that won’t scrunch up, compared to some other beef formulas I’ve used. But man the flavor.

Local wholesale produce company has started selling boxes of produce direct to individuals in light of the drastically reduced demand from the commercial food biz. Online order and you just pull up to the loading dock and they put the box in your car..off you go.

Picked up a box w/ mixed sweet peppers, cherry tomatoes, yellow potatoes, asparagus (seen above), lettuce, cucumber, broccoli, onions and lemons. Not sure how the lemons got in there but cool...I used some zest last night too. We were running low on green things in our diet of the past week so this is a really nice boost off fresh flavors and nutrients.

That sounds awesome. A lot of supermarkets were doing a similar thing but it was REALLY expensive for what you got - probably 2 - 3x the cost if you'd to buy it individually.

I'm going to google and see if there's anything like that around here but tbh most of even the take away places here are closing because they're running out of stock.

Right now it seems like a lot of businesses are moving towards alternative ways of getting their products out to people while minimizing contact. If you don’t have an option today, you might tomorrow.

that whole local section is where folks should be throwing some business

Yesterday I put some turmeric and pepper in some microwaved leftover vegetable soup and then did the accidently slam the spoon handle trick all over my pants. Then this morning I broke a glass I've been using for twenty years and cut my finger on it because I was trying to save a bowl of oatmeal from landing on the floor. Didn't realize it until I looked down at where my hand had been resting on the turmeric pants after sitting down and saw some dark spots and then blood dripping down my pinky and all over the edge of my palm. Good times.

mojo......i have adopted the "waste not want not" attitude and realize in these times I need to do what those hardy sopuls did back during the 20 and 30's....tighten the belt and if I gotta lose a finger in the process so be it!

*edit* hopefully you squeezed out the tumeric and blood from your pants into a cup and made tumeric tea!

It was worth it. Dropping food makes rage like black ops. Not a big fan of pants tea.

Ate some dandelion and violet blossoms, and garlic mustard, and ended up feeling awful soon after. Love garlic mustard and don't have a problem with it. Wondering if it was pollen from the blossoms.

(in case it's not clear, my 'like' is for garlic mustard, and Theodore's love thereof, and for foraging in general, not for the feeling awful)

The one time I made dandelion wine I might as well have been snorting big rails of cayenne for the reaction I had. I didn't even know I had allergies. Dandelion has Big Pollen Energy.

Jamaican style lamb/Shepard's pie going inna oven

I tried making a bigger batch of sourdough started using a recipe from Allrecipes that used active yeast. I put it in a cabinet and the stuff quadrupled in size and went all over the place. I kept what was left but I might just throw it out and wait for the pound of yeast I bought from Amazon to show up.

Got a big ol pork butt smokin. It will be done about noon tomorrow, which isn’t a problem since my office is just a few paces away.

Nothing special, but making egg sandwiches for the family every morning has been very therapeutic.

purchased two chuck roast yesterday along with 6 pounds of freshly ground ground chuck @ .99 cents a pound

going back for another 6 pounds today; can't beat .99 cents a pound for freshly ground ground chuck :houra:

Also, I will be wearing a mask while at the store today, for the FIRST time, since the dreaded COVID horror movie began ..........
