NFL 2017-18 Thread

Are you referring to David Tyree? A wide receiver who was drafted in 2003 and made the helmet catch in 2008 (not his rookie season).

...and was never signed again.

That is unreal to me - that guy never played again after that game.

I think if the Jags win it, it will be about their defense and running game. If the Pats can stop the Jags running game, or negate the Jags front four, Jags don't have a chance.

Gronk's penalty against the Bills wasn't stupid, it was just really bad. At that point the Pats had the game sewn up, and he yielded to a bad impulse.

As for the weekend's games ... I'm still glowing from watching the Steelers shoot their toes off, one by one. What a fucking whiny, entitled, stupid team. I have great regard for the franchise and it's history, but the current climate ... I'll just say this: as a Pats fan, I hope they keep Tomlin for 20 more years.

Vikings are blessed, and that can matter this time of year. I also think they got the benefit of some of the most lopsided officiating I've seen in some time.

And now I know why people can't stand the Pats: it's so methodical, and predictable. The other team makes a mistake (in the Titans case, dressing four DL was probably a really bad idea ... lulz), they find it, and then just pick on it. It's like watching the late-90's Yankees: you appreciate how good they are, but it gets old fast. If I weren't a Pats fan, I don't know how I'd sit for it. 7 AFCCG's in a row. That's insane.

Here's a telling statistic: the Eagles, Vikings, Jaguars and Patriots have won a combined 5 Super Bowls.

Interesting as I recall the announcers mentioning that. Hmm guess it was wrong.

As we get closer to game time, I'm starting to get excited for the Eagles. One win away from playing in the Super Bowl. Wow!

It's a shame you don't have Wentz. I am far from an Eagles fan, but it sucks if you get beat without your star. With Wentz, this game would be a cakewalk, without him, I expect it to be close.

Rooting for the Vikings. I like the Eagles. Plan was to be for the Vikings till they lost, didn't expect them to play each other.

Jags with the cover!

Patriots ran 42 pass plays without a single holding call. Only one penalty in the entire game. You don’t see that very often.

Oh, honey.

No, they're not.

I would say a 4 point loss was competing. I'd also say with a competent QB, the Pats may be watching the Super Bowl from their couch this year.

Congrats to the Pats. In a way I am glad they won, now my Super Bowl Sunday is open.
