NFL 2017-18 Thread

On the same topic, note how seldom the Patriots have stupid loss-of-composure penalties (the exception this year being Stephon Gilmore, who is deeply suspect to fans because of his Bills (a.k.a. Loser Organization) DNA).
Well, and Gronk.

But I have nothing really to talk about considering all the stoopid LOC penalties the Seahawks racked up late season. It was the worst part of this season, IMO. Hoping they get it back together, after a whole lot of changes, I bet.

The Philadelphia Eagles pull out a close game. The magical season continues.

I watched the game at a friend’s house last night. We were wondering what Eagles’ fans would think if they end up winning it all with Foles. Obviously, you’d be happy with the win, but you get with a guy you drafted, traded away for a guy you also traded away. Could you have gotten there sooner if you just stuck it out with Foles?

In his first tour of duty, they couldn't provide him with the consistent protection he needed and he didn't have a quick enough release or wasn't mobile enough to evade & pass on the move as the pocket collapsed around him.
Given the time, he was always an accurate passer. Could he have survived until they built the line around him is a better question, IMO.

Go Jags!

I don't think Foles could have won all the games this year that Carson did. Foles is not a great starting QB. He is a more than adequate back up. I'm still looking forward to what Carson can do in the future for this team.

People who don't watch sports will just never get the amazement of the last 5 minutes of that game.

I was watching with a bar full of neutrals and the place went crazy with that last play. Unbefuckinglievable.

yeah, I was at dinner and they had the game on. Place went nuts. I was clueless.

This was probably the best (most entertaining) weekend of playoff football of my lifetime. Three nailbiters full of improbable twists, brilliant plays, and bewildering blunders, marred by one undressing that was still OK for three quarters. Two and a half, anyway.

It will be interesting to see what the Jags can do. I am not connected to any of the remaining teams, though I did like the Viks as a kid when Tark was still in the game. And I do usually pull for the underdog, which I am guessing will be the Jags against the Pats. Will just be interested as a bystander.

I'll be rooting for the Jags obviously, but I don't expect them to win. Bortles is too inconsistent and its Brady at home. If by some chance they pull out the craziest upset ever, I may be packing my bags for Minnesota.

As a Saints fan, of course I was disappointed. But wow that was an awesome game. I was a Vikings fan as a kid, so I wasn't that torn up about it. I'll be pulling for the Vikes from here out, if for no other reason than to see a superbowl played on one side's home turf.

Well, I will pull with you for the underdawg, while noting my respect, if not love, for @Modern Saint 's pretty amazing team.

If the Vikings are in the Super Bowl against the Pats, it will be fun in the Saint household. My wife is from Minnesota and her family are all Viking fans. It will be up to my wife who she sides with.

That last play with 10 seconds to go was insane and totally OSSUM!!!

Blake Bortles does not strike fear into this Pats fan's heart. Tom Coughlin being associated with the Jags does.

Two words...

David Fucking Tyree.
