NFL 2017-18 Thread

Favre fumbled 166 times in 302 games. You're good enough at math to easily see that Cousins is fumbling at a rate that leaves Favre in the dust.

Over his career. From 2000-2002 he started 48 games and had 35 fumbles. Dave Krieg also had 3 years where he started 40 games and had 40 fumbles. Warren Moon also went 40 fumbles in 47 games. Your historic rate, isn't so historic after all.

Kirk had the ball needing a first down to win...didn't happen. Should've run a QB sneak but, there's that fumbling thing.
Kirk had the ball with a minute needing a FG...didn't happen. Choked like a dog.
Kirk had the ball in OT needing anything...didn't happen.

Your D held Brees to 16 points in 55 minutes in the dome before we went into the prevent. They had every bit as good a game as Cousins over the first 55 minutes.

Did the D lose a player as important as Chris Thompson in game? When your best offensive player goes down, I would expect the offense to slow down a bit. The skins only had 17 points at that time. They still managed to score 13 more in the game. If the refs don't call a intentional grounding, which the league admitted it was the wrong call the next day, a field goal would have been kicked and game won, on a drive led by Cousins. BTW, that grounding pass was Gruden's fault. They lined up for a run and Gruden motioned to Kirk to throw the ball out of bounds because the D was lined up to stuff the run.

Your awesome pro football focus has Kirk as the 9th best in the league. So your narrative in him sucking has no basis in fact whatsoever.

I never said he sucked. You, however, did say that our O-line sucks...it does not. Kirk is exactly what he is...

He puts up numbers in a pass-first offense.
He fumbles at a statistically incredible rate.
He wins about 40% of his starts.

Or, to put it in "Chad-speak", he's somewhere between Tom Brady and John Beck.

It's historic in as much as it's on par with the three leading fumblers in NFL history.

You're really terrible at this Chad.

You said “31 fumbles in 43 games. It's unheard of in NFL history.” It has been heard of, I gave you 3 examples.

when you you a site to show how good the o-line is, you may want to grab one from this year. This one that talks about this years line.

As of week 12, the Skins rank 16 in rum blocking and 25th in pass blocking. Is 25th out of 32 good? I know I’m not good at this, so I’m anxiously waiting on your expert opinion.

Well this is certainly better than flailing between Tom Brady, John Beck and Warren Moon...and any other QB you could think of to jog the topic away from Kirk. !Insert Snyder Blast Here! And I'm very happy that I've helped you discover some websites that actually compile data.

Nevertheless, Kirk is 1-6 against the Cowboys and a confirmed losing QB over his career. Get back to me when he beats the Cowboys.

I can't spell to save my life, when I do spell something right, I'll miss that it got auto corrected. People in glass houses shouldn't throw stones but, that made me giggle.

Well, he’s 1-6 against so he’s already beaten them.

Honestly, if the Skins were a good team before Cousins became the starter, you may have a point. But they had a .426 winning percentage in the 20 seasons prior to him being named the starter. Since Kirk has been the starter from the first day of the season, he is 22-21-1. Which is better than the last 20 years, not by much, but still better. My point, is Kirk is not the reason the Skins aren't good. They were bad long before he got here and unless Snyder makes changes, they will be bad long after Kirk leaves.

Yeah, I am terrible with spelling and auto correct screws me from time to time but that was a straight up posting from my phone at 2 am after jamming with some friends for 4 hours squinting at tab sheets.

Gronk getting held on every play, but they call 2 penalties on him on the drive where he has all of the yardage.

F the NFL.

Weird game. 49ers win 15-14 with 5 field goals by the kicker Bears got rid of. Crazy how they went down the field, kept the Bears off the field, completely dominated them, could not score a touch down and looked like they were going to loose till the last few minutes.

Looks like the 49ers have a quarterback.

Mebbe he was held. I don't know. But you can't drill the guy on the ground (and in the back and the back of the head) after the play.

Alright Seahawks! That was a good looking game! D held up pretty well against a strong Philly offense, had some good strong running out of Davis, and Wilson was lights out again. Damn game manager.

Yeah, but I'll take it! Garoppolo looked like he was cool and comfortable from the very start. Yeah, they need to work on their red zone plays, which they said they did little of going into this game. The key was all the 3rd downs they converted . Your QB looked pretty good too.

Willis! Nice pick.

Everyone including Gronk knows that was dirty. Gronk has to just keep pushing forward when things don't go his way. That's what pros are supposed to do.

Great game by the Seahawks!! Superb play at the QB position there.

Belichick's take on the Gronk foul was awesome ("yeah, that was total bullshit") -- and at least to his credit, Gronk apologized after the game and called himself out.

What led up to it has to stop. He's getting held on almost every play, and yet certain NFL crews just let it go, or flag him for OPI. Don't take my word for it, take Tony Romo's, who had already started (in his wonderfully cheerful way) criticizing the crew specifically for their picking on him.

While I'm on the topic of Pats' fan butt-hurt, the "Russell Wilson or Carson Wentz??!??!" breathless MVP bullshit really shows how pathetic the NFL is. I saw that Sunday night game. Yeah, I don't think I'm trading Brady for either of them.

I completely agree that the crap on Gronk has to stop. The same thing was happening in the NHL when Eric Lindros came into the league. He was big and strong & it was as if the refs were saying "that stuff shouldn't affect him, look at the size of him". He took an unreal amount of penalty-worthy crap which probably cost him and his team goals and definitely caused him extra wear & tear.

I also agree that I wouldn't trade Brady for either of those dudes.
