NFL 2017-18 Thread

Favre fumbled 166 times in 302 games. You're good enough at math to easily see that Cousins is fumbling at a rate that leaves Favre in the dust.

Shit, if Favre played behind this horrible line, he would have tripled these numbers. This could be the worst O line I have ever seen, but for some reason, folks think its good. I guess its all the yards Cousins is putting up, but man he has no time back there at all. I can't wait to see him in Jax next year. They will be contending for the AFC title.

PFF ranked the Redskins Line 7th in the league for 2016. Obviously, injuries have hurt this year but your overall narrative has no basis in fact whatsoever.

When is the last time we had a 1000 yard rusher? Good lines have 1000 yard rushers. Kirk's ability to get rid of the ball fast makes the line look way better than it is which is why they went with him, the line couldn't block, so they needed a guy who could get rid of the ball fast, Colt and Robert couldn't do that. Maybe I am just spoiled after growing up with the lines under Bugel where the QB didn't get touched, had all day to throw and we could run the ball at will. I hope they bench him for the rest of the season so he is fresh when he leads the Jags to the AFC title game next year

In all seriousness, I hope they let him walk. He is a good QB and a good guy and this team is a cancer. The skins need help at every position on the field and tying too much money up in a QB will not solve their problems.

Redskins ranked 9th in yards per carry in 2017 and 27th in attempts. Jay Gruden runs a pass-first offense...hence Cousins' inflated stats. Again, you are detached from reality because you like Cousins as a person. I also like him as a person. But not so much as to spout gibberish.

NFL.com has the Redskins 19th in rushing attempts with 26.2 per game. Their yards per carry again, from NFL.com is 3.8 which is 24th in the league.
NFL.com has the Redskins 14th in pass attempts with 34.4 per game. Their yards per pass, is 8.0 which is 5th in the league.

Cousins is by far the best QB they have had since Brad Johnson. I like the Skins to have a good QB. Trailing only Tom Brady in yards and 5th in the league in TD passes is pretty damn good. And when you take in that his outside receivers are terrible and his stud tight end has missed half the year and his rushing attack is 24th in the league, makes it even more impressive. He is top 10 in every QB stat except longest pass, where he is 11. Anyway you look at it, he is in the top half of the league in QB at the minimum. More like top 10 but I'll give you top half. Who are you going to get that is better than him? The Pats aren't letting Brady go. I'm pretty sure Rodgers or Breese aren't going to be on the waiver wire. Are the Charger's letting Rivers walk?

I think Cousins is a good guy, but I don't like him. He is super christian and that puts you in the "I don't like you" category with me. He isn't choosing his team, he is waiting for what God tells him to do. I hear him every week on Grant and Danny and he almost makes me gag with all the God stuff. If we didn't need help at almost every position, I'd want the Skins to resign him. The problem is, they have so many players with expiring contracts I don't see how they can sign him unless they are happy letting the rest of the team stink. Its hard for me to fault the QB when your defense is only ahead of the Browns, Colts and Dolphins in points allowed per game.

Oops. Make that 2016. The fact that you would dare invoke Tom Brady shows you have completely lost the plot. There is nothing impressive about stat-hounding in a pass-first offense while leading the league in fumbles and compiling a 5-7 record WITH THE WORST TWO MINUTE OFFENSE IN THE LEAGUE.

As far as replacing him, Jay Gruden has managed to manufacture multiple 4000 yard seasons out of a noodle-armed 4th rounder from Michigan State. I am absolutely confident he could do that again....with out having that 4th rounder put the ball on the ground AT THE HIGHEST RATE IN LEAGUE HISTORY.

I had to re-read that just to make sure I wasn't hallucinating. Apparently, Kirk Cousins is having a Tom Brady quality career and therefore is irreplaceable.

Sun is always shining, indeed.

Remember, Gruden couldn't do shit with Rookie of the year RGIII. I'd like to see any QB in the league run the 2 minute drill with that supporting cast. And what good is a 2 minute offense when your D gives up 30, 33, 34, 34 and 38 points? How much time was left when the Skins were up by 2 scores against the Saints?

Nowhere near what I said, but sure why not. Let the Colt McCoy/John Beck years roll. I'm ready for that, 2-14 isn't really any worse than 9-7. We will get higher draft picks for Bruce to fuck up so it will be fun.

Kirk had the ball needing a first down to win...didn't happen. Should've run a QB sneak but, there's that fumbling thing.
Kirk had the ball with a minute needing a FG...didn't happen. Choked like a dog.
Kirk had the ball in OT needing anything...didn't happen.

Your D held Brees to 16 points in 55 minutes in the dome before we went into the prevent. They had every bit as good a game as Cousins over the first 55 minutes.

If you have to wildly vacillate between John Beck and Tom Brady to craft some sort of nebulous point about the excellence of Kirk Cousins, then you don't have a point. Time to focus on the Rams and wait patiently for your next lovable-loser mancrush.

In fact, my friend, let's both do that.

Go Rams! chears

Your awesome pro football focus has Kirk as the 9th best in the league. So your narrative in him sucking has no basis in fact whatsoever.
