National Football League 2018

Lotta people gonna dance in the street when Belichick retires.

Halfway through the next season, they'll be sucking on the McDaniels era. Gonna be a long century for the haters.

For sure when BB retires but uncertain with McDaniels. I say that because Belichick coached the Browns for 4 season with only one season being successful. McDaniels may have failed in Denver for 2 seasons but in order to be successful, one must fail first.

Retiring at HALFTIME?

Bills DB Vontae Davis shocks teammates by retiring at halftime

Vontae Davis began Sunday as a defensive back for the Buffalo Bills. He ended the day retired from football, stunning his coaches and teammates by calling it a career in the middle of the game.

The two-time Pro Bowler played the first half of the game against the Los Angeles Chargers and then abruptly decided he was done.

Coach Sean McDermott confirmed the news in his press conference following a 31-20 loss to the Chargers.

"He pulled himself out of the game," McDermott said. "He told us he was done."

The decision didn't sit well in the Bills locker room.

"Completely disrespectful," said linebacker Lorenzo Alexander, according to a tweet from beat writer Matthew Fairburn of The Athletic.

At halftime, the Chargers led 28-6 on their way to sending the Bills to 0-2 on the season.

I'm guessing @Modern Saint did not.
Anyone else enjoy the Jags game yesterday? I know I did.

All I can see is highlights weren't very many. Game was not shown on the West Coast. The crappy San Diego, oops LA Chargers, Oakland Raiders, Cowboys vs. Giants and LA Rams games were televised.

FWIW, this was only game 2 of the season. Jacksonville was favored by 3 points and have a top 10 defense. The Pats usually start slow so I am not worried at all. Let the crap fly towards the playoffs.

Niners game wasn't beautiful, but a win is a win. They definitely looked better, and scored in the red zone, so a little better every week is good by me.

I'm still doing my best to avoid all things NFL and especially the phuckin' Chargers, but I got a morbid kick out of the Vontae quitting at halftime story. The Chargers have a great list of opposing team head coaches that got fired directly after kicking the shit out them, but this is WAY better than that.

Except Josh McDaniels, phuck that guy.

More pedals than the Tour De France

Fellow Pats fan, not worried either. Lousy game, plus heat index of 107 = lucky Brady wasn't decapitated by someone.

OTOH, I will be enjoying looking back on these posts in January.

I completely agreed with Alexander, it was totally disrespectful to quit in the middle of the game. At least have the decency to wait until the game is over . He signed a $5M contract with a $1.5M signing bonus, unless he plans to give it back (somehow I think that's unlikely) he should at least finish what he's committed to (he did start the game so...)

Bad day for O Linemen yesterday. And Jon Gruden. I wonder if Mark Davis is regretting the $$ he gave him. Mahones looks like the real deal but I'll wait until he plays a good team (which isn't going to be next week either)

Jags vs Bucs in the Super Bowl

I don’t get to see any Raiders games, but after watching the Bears these last 2 weeks, WTF was Gruden thinking shipping him off to Chicago? He is a 1 man wrecking crew.
