National Football League 2018

All Belichek had to do was not bench that dude last Superbowl and they would have another ring.

It's the Patriots so they can turn it around fast but it sure seems that he forgot just how rare the opportunities can be at that level.

That sucks. If there is any kind of silver lining, with it happening this early in the season, he should be ready to go for the start of next year.

Yep. Also gives them time to fill some of the voids on the O line and let Beathard take the hits. I suspect we will pick up some quarterback along the way. Anyone know of a decent QB looking for work?

Hmmmm. No, that isn't going to happen.

One never knows in today's NFL what will happen. Who would've thought that the Bills would smoke Minnesota?

FWIW, enjoy who your root for. I was so glad to see the Browns win. Can't stand the Jets anyway which made it more tangible.

As for my Pats, the season is a long way from the end. If they turn it around, awesome. If they struggle the rest of the season, it has happened before. Gonna ride the tide and let the players and coaches do their job.

Unsure on that as we don't know what the situation with Malcolm Butler was.

Much of it is speculation....

I don't think the Pats are going to turn this around fast at all.

One never knows. I remember a few seasons ago (2014) when the Chiefs smoked the Pats 41-14 in week 4. The Pats 2-2 in week 4 finished 12-4 for the season and went on to win the Super Bowl against the Seahawks.

It is too early to see how the Pats or any team for that manner will finish.

I don't think it's too early to look hard at the Pats. Their previous ability to make corrections was based on consistency at all levels of the organization: Owner, coach, QB. The stories of those three being really done with each other aren't fiction, IMO. I think Belichick's personality just ... isn't working with players any more. From Brady probably being sick of being crapped on at the end of a HoF career, to Gronkowski laughing in the face of the trade threat, Belichick has failed to read the changing situation outside the team: even in the NFL, players have more power and say these days.

I think the Patriots will struggle to win 10 games.

Doesn't work as well without the "" icon...

Serious question: does anyone feel like Belichick is just jealous of Kraft and Brady?

Not at all. I think Bill wanted to move on from Brady and Kraft forced the Jimmy G trade so he couldn’t. That is the reason for all the friction. It isn’t like Bill hasn’t moved on from players in their prime.

I can’t blame him, even if you think Brady is the greatest ever, he is 41. There is a reason the average of and NFL player is 26.6.
