Mental health check-in

Yeah, no live music as a spectator or performer is a real bummer and the not knowing when or if it will return is a drag. I’m fairly certain most of my fav places to play and see shows are gonna be vaporized by this thing.
Yep. Most of my regular venues are small independent bars and clubs that I'm sure will be wiped out. And I'm pretty freaked out about being onstage in a room with 300 drunk assholes these days
.

That sucks. But if local news has taught me anything, the silver lining is that now you’ll have more time to spend with family. So you can spend quality time homeschooling the boy about terrible puns that will drive your wife insane.

#strongertogether

I have my teenage daughter dealing out fart jokes. And farts.

And I think my college age son who normally would be at Wesleyan has fully surpassed me in Dad joke and pun mastery.

You know, Anne Frank may have died, but Jeff Mangum wrote a totally rad album about her!

Sometimes I really question the priorities.

On the topic of live music, my son's friend's dad works for Hard Rock Orlando. I'm not sure in what capacity, some kind of operations role.
Anyway he was telling my wife yesterday that he got furloughed and they (management) don't have the best outlook on it reopening before fall of next year. That being the case they are not sure they could recover. This is the Hard Rock Orlando! If they are worried about making it I can imagine what that means for the bars and clubs.
Absolute travesty to so many people.

Oh well, on a humorous note - my wife's car was stolen, probably while I was off donating white blood cells. She loves that car (red 2013 Mazda 3 hatchback).

Yesterday was a banner day at casa bsman...

But equally divey places will open to take their place.

There is 1 place around here that I would say is as close to a legit juke joint as I have ever experienced. I’ve been before where they hadn’t paid the electric bill and had an extension chord running to the neighbors to power the PA and were still selling warmish can beer.

Life will find away.

Much better day today on account of not being uselessly hungover.

We went a nice long walk in the sun.

I finally got round to getting mastic on the downstairs sink. Its not perfect but another run tomorrow should fix it.

I made a new recipe - shredded balsamic beef - sooooo good.

Power washed the decking and tidied up bits of the garden. Would be nice if the skip was open so I could really clear it but hey ho.

Going to jump out the hot tub and listen to some tunes mow then watch some TV with Mrs JBJ now.

Oh yeah, I got the kitchen gleaming too - self cleaning ovens are a thing of beauty.

careful with the self-clean cycle - I've yet to meet a self-cleaning oven that didn't eventually damage itself from the high heat (minimally burning out fuses, also had one that burned out a control board that was a spendy replacement)
