LP Special Doublecuts??? Let's talk about 'em.

So much P90... drool

Does your yellow one have an ebony board? That would be a plus for me. Which model/year is it?

Yes, it's ebony. 2011. From the model number on the case candy (begins with letters "LPJSD"), I'm guessing that the official model name was "Les Paul Junior Special Doublecut." I've always refused to ever use the "Junior Special" name since it's so stupid and oxymoronic. Thank God the actual guitar only says "Special."

Well, if we can mention SGs, Iv'e had minor gas for a one of these for a while now https://www.musiciansfriend.com/gui...-electric-guitar-brazilian-cherry-fingerboard

Reading this, started wondering if there was ever a USA model? Yes there is or, was.

LP specials don't seem to have balance issues like SG... I think they have the proper proportion of Ass to Neck... Makes me wonder how much better an SG would be with a slightly larger ass, narrower horns, but retain the jem facets.... damn... leave the texture of the painted mahogany unfilled so it gets that mahog wood grain look/feel... Mmm mmm mmmm....

The 12-string Ric was on my GAS list until I got one. It was virtually unplayable for me and I traded it off after a couple months. :(

Zoinks. I got a cheapo Daisy Rock 12-er, but, even with a church gig at the time, I just ended up never playing it, so off it went. Not a playability issue though.

Sorry to hear. I really like my 620/6 but I guess I won't know how I like a 12 string until I finally get one. I don't foresee one in the near future though.

I think the 600 series have wider necks - at least that’s the gossip. The neck on the 330/12 would have been unusually thin for a six-string!

My vague recollection is that the Dakota (650D), now discontinued, had a wider neck, but I don't know that all 600 series do. I did go to the Ric site, and it seemed to bear that out, as I compared the specs for the 650D (the specs are still up although the guitar isn't still being made) and the 620, and the Dakota was noticeably wider. I have a 620 six string, and it is narrow to the feel.
