Give me something to watch on Netflix

Watched "Emily the Criminal" last night. Meh. Wasn't horrible, but nothing to particularly recommend it. It's like someone said "Hey lets spend the entire budget getting Aubrey Plaza in the movie. We don't need to worry about writing because Plaza's personality will carry the whole movie."

Was she good in the role? She's a fave of mine.

Pretty much the same as everything else she's done. Slightly nerdy and bitter.

I can't say I'm a fan, so I may be missing something. Near as I can tell, she doesn't act for any role - she just does Aubrey Plaza.

It’s just a different kind of acting. It’s not method, it’s not Shakespearean. But it’s different, and it’s 100% valid. Just like all old Hollywood.

I played the game on both PS3 & PS4 ... after they entered town in the truck, the way it was shot basically copied the game exactly. I didn't know they were going to do that (I tried to avoid all trailers/spoilers to go in as clean as possible) and the deja vu was so strong it made the hair on the back of my neck stand up. It was very "WHOA!!!"

If the rest is as good as the first episode, it'll be a certified masterpiece of TV. Which is precisely what that game deserves. The remastered LoU will be released on PC in March, for anyone interested. It may be the best game I've ever played.
I enjoyed the opening intro too.

White Lotus Season 2 was fun, speaking of Aubrey.

Last of Us ep 1 was excellent. I’m a sucker for post-apocalyptic stuff when it looks and feels plausible.

we finally started Ted Lasso. Absolutely love it. It’s like a warm hug that makes the rest of the world go away for 30 mins a pop.

I’m enjoying this a hell of a lot more than I thought I’d be.

I confused about the time warping gpoing on....seems like 1990's kids timewarped back to 1970's or perhaps adults transported their house to the 1990's

You do know that people live in their houses for decades and it naturally moves through time?
My house was built in 78...it's still here.

Well yeah I mean I still have wood paneling in the dining room area and floral linoleum in a harvest gold in the kitchen but I don’t have “ have a nice day” smiley face wallpaper or a floral sofa and green velvet recliner

Oh, and I'm three episodes into Velma too. Yes, it's overly snarky, it's ridiculously meta, and it's woke as all git-out. But I don't care--I'm in.

Y'see folks? Give it a try like we did!

I'm 4 episodes in and I've really warmed to it. It's hyper-snark and meta and woke, and it's genuinely making me laugh at some of the preposterous things they dream up. It doesn't deserve the hatred it's been getting.

Mrs Motorik and i have finally got around to watching season 1 of Pretty Little Liars. Holy fuck, we just learned there's like 170+ episodes over 7 seasons.

I wasn't sure I was going to make it through the first episode, but I'm glad I did.

Have you checked out 1923? It's definitely worth watching.
Thanks for the 1883 suggestion. You were correct that it is like Lonesome Dove.

I'll definitely check that out! There's a whole ton of Yellowstone stuff on the slate now, I was just reading yesterday about the upcoming Bass Reeves show.

Ok, I’ve finished S2. It’s a joy. It was just renewed for a third season, and should air late in the year. I can’t wait.

I’m not much of a horror fan — and this one isn’t scary at all, really — but if you dig murderous dolls with extremely dark comedy, is campy, is smart, has convoluted plot lines, has tons of movie references, had plenty of gore, and is very queer-positive…

It’s for you.
