Give me something to watch on Netflix

Operation Mincemeat was a total turd (it’s on Netflix). They took an incredibly cool and true story from WWII, watered down many of the most interesting details, and inserted a dull love triangle that never even happened.

the acting and cinematography were excellent. It’s a shame and a disservice they fucked the story up so badly.

Been a long time and don't remember much about it but I remember enjoying https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Man_Who_Never_Was

"All Quite On The Western Front" is excellent.
Highly recommend if you like war movies. Doesn't romanticize war, like so many others tend to. Would put it right up there with 1917 as probably in my top 10 movies I've seen.
Is it just a remake of the original? For some reason, we watched the original in Spanish class back in middle school.

Edit: looks like the one I watched in middle school was a remake of a 1930s flick.

Has anyone else check out Guillermo del Toro’s Cabinet of Curiosities on Netflix? I had high hopes for it but I’ve seen three episodes; two were boring and the third was so bad that I gave up after 42 minutes.

I sorta liked the first three. They were uneven but decent overall. The next three were just plain boring. (There was a pretty gnarly scene at the end of the painting episode, though.)

The Peripheral on Prime is OK...it's got some potential to be really good but the first three episodes aren't there yet, IMO.

The dialog is a bit cliche and the acting overall, is fairly average, at best. Moretz's bad southern accent, that comes and goes, is distracting.

It's odd, the episodes are slow, but I don't mind the character build up. I've only gotten up to Episode 5, that was my least favorite.

I never saw the original one from the '30s. Wasn't the first remake a TV movie? Either way, I thought it was really good.

I just watched it and was disappointed. It wasn’t a bad film but was very unfaithful to Remarque’s book, and really not as good as the original made in 1930 - a year after publication of the novel.

Th Devil's Hour on Prime was great! Somewhat disappointing ending, but OTT, excellent!

Inside Man the series was pretty good
I've started watching that, but put it on hold for the new season of "The Crown" (Dolores Umbridge just doesn't cut it as Elizabeth).

"Inside Man", despite its rather silly premise, is entertaining.

If it hasn't been mentioned...

Ancient Apocalypse is great. Visits to amazing sites which fuel historic theories of anthropology with evidence which has been ignored by the establishment for a long time. I have watched it multiple times. If you know Graham Hancock, he is the presenter. I love that kind of thing.

Not saying that Wednesday is fantastic, epic, world changing television. I am saying that I enjoy it so far and have gotten some good chuckles. And her cynicism defuses the annoying Teenage thing by design which helps.

They did do the ghost of Raul Julia dirty with that casting, but he's hardly in the show.
