Give me something to watch on Netflix

Wife and I watched "From Scratch" with Zoe Saldana... and at first I was like "where the fuck is this boring ass romance show going"....

... but I stuck with it....

... and... fuckers. I'm a grown ass man... don't need to be weeping over a stupid show like this.... but it hit too close to home.
Zoe Saldana is exceptionally beautiful.

Fuck a doodle do!
Derry Girls season 3 made it to Netflix. Just finished it. It isn't as funny as the first two seasons - some of the charm has worn off, and the character Sister George Michael is criminally wasted.

It also gets a bit heavy.

Yeah the writing definitely dropped off, the weird haunted house episode just didn't fit at all, seemed a strange way to crowbar in what happened during the episode with certain characters.

The last episode was on point though, I don't remember it super clearly but that vote was massive and given the scale and length of The Troubles, the vast majority of people found themselves in that position trying to decide what was the right way to move on and avoid a slide back into the war. I thought they handled it very delicately.

The final scene with the letter was a bit jarring but it was better than some horrible Harry Potter-esque flash forward to them as grown ups.

Around season 3 my suspension of disbelief was at it's limits.

If it’s taken thing long, then you’re as naive as they come.

Yeah, it’s absolutely ridiculous. Then again, so were the movies.

But the series is still very enjoyable. Which can’t be said of the movie sequels.

For you Raising Hope and My Name is Earl fans, Dan Garcia has a new sitcom called "Sprung". It has Martha Plimpton and Garret Dillahunt from Hope. It's not as funny as Hope or Earl, but still worth a watch. Dillahunt is always a treat to watch.

You can watch it on Freevee on your Roku, or I believe you can watch on Amazon as well.

Suspension of disbelief is a tolerance. It has nothing to do with a measure of naivety Mr Patronization.

Yeah, Ralph Machio is as believable as a Karate master as he is a guitar phenom.

I enjoyed the first season when they flipped the original and made the hero the villain, etc… and had hopes for the “young blood” next gen of kids….

…. But for fuck’s sake, could they have cast even one or two people who can handle some choreography? The stunt coordinators must throw their hands in the air and pray for a lot of jump cuts.

Even Iron Fist was partially saved by Jessica Henwick being able to at least fight believably on screen. I was ready for Danny Rand to die and her to become the new Iron Fist. I pray to the gods of K’un Lun that they cast a completely kick ass 18 year old kid to be Iron Fist in the MCU, or even better yet, forgoe the character and have Shang Chi team up with Luke Cage.

Iron Fist was so bad I didn't even bother watching the second season, and then they made Danny Rand the dumbass that screws up The Defenders as well. They must really have had it in for Iron Fist as a character.

They picked Finn Jones to portray him... who refused to learn the choreography and train... for a character who is supposed to be the best in the world at what he does, and he looks like a brown belt taking Tae Kwon Do from the studio in a Mall parking lot. :embarrassed:

That's why all the best scenes are in darkness... with his face covered....

Operation Mincemeat was a total turd (it’s on Netflix). They took an incredibly cool and true story from WWII, watered down many of the most interesting details, and inserted a dull love triangle that never even happened.

the acting and cinematography were excellent. It’s a shame and a disservice they fucked the story up so badly.

Not Netflix, but on streaming services (freevee and a few others).

350 Days.

If you're a fan of pro wrestling from the 70s, 80s, 90s, it's a documentary about life on the road, 350 out of 365 days.

*cough* U-571 *cough* :embarrassed:

never saw it. Same type of treatment to the real story?

Yeah. There was a bit of an uproar in the UK at the time as they 'Americanised' the story and had the US Navy capture an Enigma from a U-Boat instead of the Royal Navy.

Decent movie though.
