The driver was a member of National Vanguard and drove hundreds of miles to march with National Vanguard and carry their colors. He then attempted to murder several dozen people.

You are correct, but only for the Friday night march. Saturday, they played dress-up.

First, the militia trash escorted them. Little boys playing soldier wouldn't last a second in real combat. They should enlist if they want to play soldier.

This is a genuine question: given that you clearly care and wish to be informed, I'm wondering how you didn't see how heavily armed these thugs were?

I actually didn't go looking for 'trouble' (e.g., heartbreaking news) at first, but the first stuff I saw on the internet, I was wondering "how the fuck do the cops let guys who are so heavily armed just start shit?" My first post (about an hour prior to the terrorist attack with the car) was along the lines "geez, I wonder what might happen if a bunch of African-Americans armed themselves heavily and started thugging around downtown Charlottesville? #selectiveenforcement"

That was my post around 11:30 Saturday.

How was it you didn't see these images?

I was at work yesterday until 2pm...spent the rest of the day and most of today dealing with my own responsibilities...until just now I had no idea what transpired Saturday at all...I have not had much time to review the latest news until this evening...

when i saw the pics of the 'militia' and how they were armed and their numbers, i was going "where the fuck are the cops?"........i understand that there are 'open' carry laws, but that's not about armed (radical) militias massing and marching down the streets daring anyone to resist them. that's called 'armed insurection', imo.
there were like no cops anywhere around this event until it went side ways. if i'm the mayor and i know this rally is going to happen, and he did, i'm on the phone to the governor insisting on a large state police presence AND national guard. it's not like we don't know how these fucking rallies often turn out.
 
I spent the entire weekend on a soccer field, so didn't even hear about this until late last night. I'm glad I live in an area where a march of armed insurrectionists would not be tolerated. I believe that for future such demonstrations the Guard should b activated. This has moved from protest to sedition and uprising and needs to be put down harshly.

You'd think that....then when you look at the arrest reports from this week, you see how few people were actually residents of the Charlottesville and surrounding communities. Apparently this rally has been promoted online for a week or more in an effort to import support. All you need is an event or incident that will draw them like moths to a flame.

and......when you have so many people coming in from across the country, armed and marching.....that IS insurection. walking around with signs and shouting slogans is one thing. armed militias is nearly an act of war.
 
I would hate to see a clash between bearded racists from the south and bearded hipsters from the LA neighborhood of Silverlake.
