2023 concert thread

STOKED! My sister scored pre-sale for The Smile in St Augustine June 30th and we got 6 tickets really close to the stage!!!!!
I already see them on Stubhub for the cost of all six each. That's insane.

Just got an alert that Adrian Belew tickets are going on sale for a show this summer. I can't find what kind of show it will be, his website doesn't even list dates out that far. He's been touring with Jerry Harrison.

<edit> yeah an extension of the RIL tour with Harrison. And the backup band is a Les Claypool thing. Dang!

I'd be all over that.

Les Claypool is doing a Green tour with Flying Frog Brigade headlining and various openers depending on the tour leg. Belew & Harrison are doing a leg w/ their Remain In Light thing. If they or Fishbone were the openers for the closest show to me I'd consider going, but the FFB isn't enough of a pull on its own for me.

The one I saw near me has Fishbone opening I think. I haven't seen them since 94!

I got two tickets for Tori Amos at Red Rocks. Not the best seats but not the nosebleeds. Interestingly AXS charged me $7.68 more in fees for Red Rocks than they did for Sunn at the Gothic Theater.

Death Cab was really good last night. Momma opened for them. I had never heard of them but they were good. Very Veruca Salt from the 90's so of course I loved it.

Gordon Lightfoot for the 23rd March rescheduled for June 16th due to illness. As my 70 year old father said, "He better not die before we get to see him". This is a 3 generation show for us. I was stoked!
Now I have no shows scheduled until June. Time to see what's out there.

A buddy called me and asked if I wanted to go to London for the Jeff Beck tribute at the Royal Albert Hall. Ticket prices weren't too bad but after factoring in flights, food and lodging, I had to pass. What we did agree on (which is not popular here) is Dead and Company on June 15. This is their last go around and I have never seen this incarnation so I opted to take the plunge.

I wonder if the parking lot is anywhere near as crazy as it was for the Dead. I probably went to 4 or 5 Dead shows, but never had tickets, so never went in. I think there were just as many people in the parking lot as were in the stadium. Some of the best shows I've ever been too

I just got tickets for The Cure. If I’d have known how low the prices would be I would have logged in earlier to be at the front of the line. I expected the best seats to be hundreds of dollars—they were $130. Literally $130 to be in the pit twenty feat from Robert Smith. But I still got tickets in the amphitheater, I won’t be stuck on the lawn if it rains, so I’m happy.

Got my notification that I'm on the "verified fan" wait list. I guess I'm expecting a text at some point in the next few days that tells me I can get in queue.

I'll let you know.

They launched the presale sale today instead of doing it on Friday. They should have sent you a text yesterday. Robert Smith was tweeting that some venues were sold out this morning.
