I'm betting that (along with gay marriage), this will cease to be an issue in the very near future. Demographic changes make it inevitable...
 
Gay marriage may happen in Illinois this week. The bill passed the Senate and is currently in the House. The spring session ends tomorrow. The governor said that he will sign it into law.
 
TIG - well pot is illegal. That might get you some leverage.

In gear news I got the Schecter Solo Gold top. Overall it is beautiful. These DD Pickups run hot and cold, but these are good ones. But very dark. To me the have a pronounced mid range. The sorta bad news is that it has 2 finish blemishes. One on the top edge', and one on the bottom edge. I got this from HM. I emailed them to see if they will do a partial refund. They have in the past on this kind of thing. If I can get a small refund, I will keep it. It sounds great thru my WGS retro 30.

It's my first Macbook and I've been wanting one for a while but couldn't justify the prices or find a good one used. This one was thought to be moderately unusable by its owner so I took it in, gave it love, asked Kerouac a bunch of questions, hacked into it and now it's like brand new except for a small crack on the trackpad which I'll be replacing. Upgrading the Ram from 2gb to 8gb for about $200. Total spending, just under $400 for a "new" Macbook. Works for me.

coolio. that's my one gripe about ths macbook is some of the keys don't work and the case hasn't been that durable as well as the insulation falling off of the ac cord. it seems like the quality would be better for as expensive as they are. not sure if that trackpad can be replaced without doing the whole keyboard which is kinda pricey. i got a wireless keyboard and mouse and that's how i'm using my macbook now. hey you got yours for the right price though. many years of computing mojo your way.

Luckily I can replace just the trackpad by itself. $90. And I found the RAM I needed for $65 instead of $200. This has really worked out well.

Well as it turned out HM was pretty generous on the Schecter Goldtop. They gave me 15% partialk refund for a couple finish flaws each less then 1/4 inch. Works for me.
 
Damn, we lost 4 firefighters today and 6 more injured in a 5 alarm hotel fire when a section collapsed. Even though I haven't been in a department in a while, it still hits like a sledge hammer in the chest.
