2nd round predictions
Ducks over Oilers. While I would prefer the Oilers the Ducks are probably the hottest team right now in the playoffs. Until that changes (like they start to lose) I can't bet against them even though I will still be chanting Fuck the Ducks. Ducks in 6
Nashville over St Louis. This is a tough one. I think the Preds because they are faster and I believe in Pekka over Allen in spite of the way he's played. Nashville in 7
Pens over Caps Pretty much the same reason as the Ducks. Until the champs lose they are the fav. I do think that the series against TO was good for the Caps since both the Pens and the Leafs play fast. Will it be enough? Pens in 6
Rangers over Sens - Again another tough one. Rangers get the nod because I think Hank can outplay Anderson and the Rangers have more offense than the Sens do. However if the Rangers don't take what the Sens give them and try to force things it could go the other way. Rangers in 7
 
Ducks over Oilers in 6
St Louis over Nashville in 7.
Caps over Pens in 6.
Rangers over Sens in 6.

Took some "dark horses".

StL vs Nashville is an intriguing match-up.

I think Caps vs Pens is going to be a blood-bath.

There's no love lost between these 2 teams and I think the Caps are going to try to use the body whenever they can, especially in the first 2 games. They might actually LOSE one of those games, but I think the physical damage the Caps inflict is going to add up quickly, even at the expense of a loss. IOW, check the living shit out of them, and make it HURT when you hit them.

Sid will be Sid, talking shit and instigating stuff, but I think Ovechkin has about had it with his shenanigans. Ovie is a beast when he wants to be, and he has something to prove. The whole team does.

We'll see, I guess.
I just have one of those feelings that it's going to get nasty before it's all over.

I don't want to see anyone get hurt, but I just have that feeling.......shit's gonna get real, real quick.

I'm not going to say it might come down to ref'ing, but you know how those things go. If the refs let 'em play and hit each other, well.....I think they're going to be hitting HARD. Intent to injure? Tough to prove. Intent to hurt? Pretty easy to see what's going on there.

It's going to be a punishing series.

In this era it surprises me too but Bobby Baun had a broken leg and scored the winning goal in an OT game six of the playoffs in 1964. I wasn't born but it still happened.

Ducks...beasts will teach the young ones a lesson.

Rangers because Ottawa isn't really 2nd round good.
Preds because St Louis is playing way better than they are. Is it a wave that they ride or do they check in with reality?

The Caps BARELY got by the tiny team call Toronto...........

My only beef against Mario,(my favorite player of all time), is that he never picked up a person that could pound the piss out of anybody that tried to hurt his stars...(bread and butter)..

Somebody let Danendonia know who Mario is...

And goons are out, man. No more goons in the league. If you're gonna hit people cleanly you have to know how to play and skate well. Was it more entertaining back then? Possibly.....but there were a lot of repercussions because of it. Lots of head trauma and broken faces, that sort of thing. Concussions weren't even really reported back then.
 
The Sid glasses are so dark. So dark that they make people blind. The piss pounded out of him? Found a way to win? Ovechkin handed out so many hits that the wear and tear would add up to a huge amount. Crosby's injuries were from what has to be a lack of durability and unfortunate circumstances, but I am happy to see that he has bounced back this year even though I don't like him jamming people in the groin with his stick or breaking people's fingers with slashes... it reminds me of him punching that dude in the groin that time when the dude was being held by another player.

Found a way to win? That's hilarious. He disappeared in the Finals against Detroit and Detroit disappeared too so that was the first Cup he got. Not to mention that one player doesn't make a team win. In hockey that statement is more true than any other. Last year, that was Murray's MVP. Without his play, they would have been put out in every round.

Mario never had anyone to 'pound the piss' out of people except later in his career when they had McSorley. Sid has not had liberties taken against him so they never needed it and the game has been shedding that stuff anyway so there is little room for someone who doesn't have the skills.

Seriously, when I read your posts about hockey, it reminds me of someone who never watches it...except maybe with those super dark glasses on.

And just for the record: how did tiny Toronto do against Pittsburgh this year?
