The Official Jack's Place 2017 NHL Thread!

Hey, that WAS light .... for hockey.

Last night was very interesting ... wondering what was bothering the Preds during the season? There is such a thing as teams changing once they enter post-season. Nashville looks very tough to stop at this point.

I think Montreal got the better of the deal. But Montreal's not playing, and Nashville is, so......

I think it was a stupid trade. Yeah long term you might have less cap issues but you traded a faster younger Dman for a slower older one. MTL's big trouble in the playoffs was that they couldn't generate enough offense. Weber is good on the PP and his shot is potentially lethal but look what PK did last night.

And the city of MTL loved PK. He is a great humanitarian as Nashville is now learning.

Not sure why Nashville struggled during the reg season but they are certainly playing well right now. The Oilers surprised me last night, the Ducks had been looking like an unstoppable force for the last month or so. Not that one game means much but I was surprised at how effective the Oilers looked

Oilers surprised me too because the Ducks looked like the better team last night to me...a goal off of a skate can be a lethal blow. The Ducks should learn that they have to be more disciplined than they were last night as a young, fast PP like the Oil have will put the Ducks in a bad place.

If the Ducks don't learn that lesson then they will have a much harder time.

Fleury indeed. I didn't think he could play that well any more but maybe he has found that losing the starting spot had tale the pressure off of him (?). Or maybe he comes back down to reality soon (?).

At any rate, it seemed like the Caps were a bit off with their timing early on and got into their game later on when they started hitting. I didn't find that they were getting away with murder at all as I saw at least 2 third man in penalties that could have been called in that late melee, along with a major face wash which started with a 3 man on 1 in the corner after the play following whay the refs called a slash. That was a little poke and not penalty worthy.

Anyway, they have to let them play and I didn't see a problem with the ref angle at all. Loved the big hit on Malkin in the 3rd. That kind of thing can take him out of the series.

And yet no props for Sid...

I'm guessing that he could lay down with your closest living female that gives birth to another Lord and there'd still be no props...

Killing me....

FTR. The reason why Fleury is still there is because he's loved..

It's a great feeling..He's one of the reasons why the team tries ...

Or did you just skip that?

You do seem to have not only a wild imagination but some sort of neurotic tendency(ies).

Sid is one of the most talented humans to have played hockey and his skills have not diminished. I would mention specifics if there was something outstanding at his level or if he was really off or something. I don't think that anyone needs to say "great game Sid", like you did as if he were reading it in real time.

Well....I'll give you the 'wild imagination'

Your comment about Sid being 'on fire' got lost is the mix of 'fuck Crosby' and this made me laugh, "zesty game"..

In all of my years I don't think I've ever heard a hockey game referred to as 'zesty'

It was a wise move for the Pens to keep both goalies and it's paying off in now. What will they do come the expansion draft...I suspect Fleury will be unprotected and if not claimed they will look to move him regardless of how the playoffs finish.

TP we know Crosby is good, saying so in every single post is

:dh:

The St. Louis crowd is a blast. They are chanting and yelling and sounding like Viking warriors at times. That must be a great place to watch a game.

I recall some wild games back in the Hull and Oates days and the Cujo vs Gilmour era but this crowd is like a Canadian crowd. Great to see people enjoying something so thoroughly.
