So what he's saying is you should quitcherbitchin.

But seriously, how is this latest proclamation playing in CA. It's not gotten much play here.
Its lost in the background noise. From what I see on Facebook most locals who support Trump are too busy pointing at the protesters at the rallies and saying "look over there! Those are the real jerks!" and everyone else is trying to convince themselves that Bernie still has a chance or that Hillary isn't so bad.

I'm seeing a disturbing trend. Many of the Sanders supporters seem to have decided that the superdelagates will switch their vote to Sanders because of Clinton's unpopularlarity and magically propel him to the general election.

I feel like people on both sides of page are living in some sort of alternate reality where if they just post what they want to happen on Facebook enough times and get enough likes from people who think just like they do that magic will happen and the country will be saved from the horrible ravages of "that other guy".

That’s the basis of Bernie’s entire campaign. Just pretend that a rubber-stamp Democrat Congress exists, and that Bernie supporters control state houses and governorships across the nation, and Bernie will reshape federal law and the constitution by fiat.

If Bernie gets elected, that sends a message that the people are fed up with smoke screen issues. If a candidate like Bernie wins the way he is campaigning, it sends a scare to the ones in office to either buckle down and actually do something or you will get voted out when your next campaign comes.

I support Bernie and if he, by some miracle gets elected, I know he will get nothing done until the midterms. But I trust him nominating judges more than I trust Trump or Clinton

Or maybe you're right and all the other Sanders supporters are idiots. I can never figure out politics. I am still shocked Bush got a second term.

The idea is, voter turnout would be so big, house and senate would go back to the Dems.

Instead, it looks like Clinton will get the nomination. Right now, she is tied with Trump. Best case scenario is she wins the general election. It's not going to be the mother of all landslides they were talking about a month ago. So, it will be 4 or, 8 more years of what we have now. In other words, what little good she does want to do, will be blocked by congress.

Again, the big importance of this election cycle is the Supreme Court justices that the next president will replace. One new conservative justice would restore the court to what we had before Scalia died. However, even with that mix, we had the disastrous Citizens United decision. We also saw the religious block of the Court (Alito, Roberts, Thomas) allow a company to dictate religious morals to its employees, and almost block marriage equality.

If Trump wins, he will likely add at least one (and maybe two) conservative Justices (go look at his short list of replacements of Scalia). And don't forget that Court that the next president builds will exist for 20 years or so.

Post from a buddy on another forum, but he nails it right here...good stuff.

In the 80s and 90s, people always tried to label me as uberconservative or right wing fanatic. Now I have GOP friends decrying me as liberal. I have only changed positions on 2 issues - the death penalty and climate change.
I don't see how anyone can rationally support Reagan or the fiscal reforms of the 90s, and still support the Post-2000 GoP, unless you're obsessed with them queerfolk or the abortion issues.
W's farm bill not only undid the reforms of the Gingrich congress, it was even more wasteful than any of its predecessors. W went his entire first term without vetoing a single spending bill - NOT ONE, and increased spending at a faster rate than any president since Roosevelt. W added the largest addition to the entitlement system since LBJ with an Rx program that benefited big pharma far more than Medicare recipients. W pushed through steel tariffs at a time when steel EXPORTS had quintupled - the problem with big mills was domestic competition with mini-mills, but W figured it was a good way to secure PA for 2004. It ended up costing far more jobs in manufacturing because of the rise in the price of raw materials.
Reagan naturalized illegal aliens, and welcomed refugees fleeing SE Asia.
All the things the GOP used to stand for have been replaced by a sports mentality, coupled with a pernicious hyper-nationalism. Whatever their guy is for must be intrinsically evil and / or socialist. Implementing Romneycare nationwide (as Romney advocated in a letter to the WSJ when he thought Obama and the Dems would flounder) and paying for it through the John McCain proposed tax on wealthier insurance plans - oh, the horror! The US is leading the world in new technology...Google, Apple, Amazon, Biotech, etc. But we need to make America great again because coal workers with only a HS diploma might lose their jobs to clean energy. We're running huge deficits just in time for baby boomers retiring en masse, but the biggest problem is telling a dude "You may now kiss the groom."

Trump talks about destroying the full faith and credit of US debt (Screw that Hamilton guy, I only like people who win duels), wants to abolish free trade, wants to blame everything on Mexicans and Muslims...And as near as I can tell, Bill Kristol's biggest concern is he doesn't think Pumpkinhead is a devout Christian.

AMEN!
